  • My Cottage Garden Filled With Antiques, I love spending time out here reading and having my morning coffee and night time adult beverage. Anyone care to join me. We give garden tours. I love it in the spring, however the summer has lots of flowers. The downside is in the Fall and Winter it doesn't look so inviting., Gardens Design

  • Modernist Mother-in-Law's Apartment, My home was built in 1950 and included a detached carport with a large two-room workshop. In January of this year, I embarked on a project to build a completely self-contained apartment for myself on the existing slab of the carport/workshop and invited my daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons to move into the main house. The new apartment was immediately dubbed "The Modernist Nest" by a fellow blogger and "Grammo's Little House" by my grandsons.

It took three months to complete the construction and a couple more months to landscape, but I'm finally in and enjoying my new 676 sf nest-space very much., Other Spaces Design

  • The Gazebo Garden, My husband and I constructed this garden to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Our boys helped to build the patio and retaining wall. It's our favorite place to hang out in the summer. The gazebo is screened in so we don't have to worry about bugs. There are four large maple trees surrounding the gazebo so it is cool and breezy. We have a hammock strung up between two of the trees and it's a great place to nap or relax. The hammock is big enough for both of us so we use this as a spot to reconnect with each other after a busy week., Gardens Design

  • Liquidscapes, Pool Environments!! When you start thinking about a pool, think more in terms of it as a "Pool Environment" and living space. Think more in terms of how you want your space to function and be used, because that is what will define the space in many ways!!, Pools Design

  • Walk at the Beach, We enlarged this bathroom to accommodate a custom shower, tub sink and vanity and an open water closet. The shower was the inspiration, starting with the floor. We collected beach and river stones from our travels from Cape Cod, to Maine to New Brunswick, Canada. We used a combination of standard materials and custom built materials. The walls and ceiling are painted the same to expand the space, and the radiant floor heating warms your feet like walking on the sand at the beach on a summer's day. , Bathrooms Design

  • DIY Rhubarb Leaf Stepping Stones, Although I'm a DIY selfer for a long time I never had the chance to work with cement. This project was really easy. I used cement and rhubarb leaves to create a unique walkway to the workshop. From beginning to end it took me 3 hours to complete. The results are better than I expected. I will be planting creeping thyme around the steps. I will post the after pictures once the thyme has grown., Yards Design

  • Modern oasis with asian influence, I love this space and it was a clean slate when I started...absolutely bare with no mature growth. I built a concrete wall/entrance to give depth to the front of our property and created a nook to the right of the front door to pause and reflect on the peaceful sound of water flowing from the natural granite fountain. The ground is covered in mexican beach pebbles. I call the style...mid-century modern this century modern with an asian flair., Gardens Design
