  • My New Millwork!, This is an update of my dining room. I installed a chair rail at 36", a plate rail at 60" high and picture frame mouldings in between the rails. Thanks to all who offered suggestions on what to put above my millwork. I decided to keep the blue wall color in order to contrast with the red in my table & chairs, but I toned down the blue with my two large black mirrors and a big clock I got from Target. I don't like the red undertone in my dining set, but it's a well made set from Ethan Allen, so it definitely has to stay! The rug also has to stay, and the black mirrors help tie it in. After all my hard work installing and painting the millwork, I wasn't sure I liked it. But now that the room is getting decorated, I think it looks pretty good!, Dining Rooms Design

  • A little something extra, I cast gypsum for some interesting trim details over the garage door and back garage entry door. I also cast concrete for some trim detail over the window on the front. Trimmed out the patio doors in some embossed trim left over from another project.
The gypsum and concrete were cast in my studio,I don't do this for a living, just for a hobby. I'm a jeweller and sculptor by trade., Home Exterior Design

  • Contemporary/Post Modern Dinning Room Built In Hutch And Display, We were contacted by a designer based in Arizona. The designer had a client moving from Arizona to the New York metro area and she needed a local millwork contractor to supply a built in the clients new apartment.

The built in was to be contemporary/modern and cubist in nature. The unit measures about twelve feet long and is 85" high. It is manufactured from solid and Maple veneer. The stain color is a blended/custom ebonized cherry stain mixed up by our lacquer supplier. The glass has a sandblasted effect achieved by the use of a glass film.

The unit incorporates various nooks and cubbies. Some behind glass wood sliding doors, on top, some behind glass and wood hinged doors, and some open. The large open middle portion is for art work and has two halogen down light pucks on a dimmer. Below the art nook is a top that runs through the unit and allows the couples children some work space to do their homework. There is also a wine rack incorporated into the units lower right section., Living Rooms Design
