Homeowner asked us to create a warm, metallic faux finish over the already existing "Wheat Penny" basecoat. Once completed we then brushed in random stenciling.

We call this space Metallic Casual because the walls are painted in a deep green Ralph Lauren metallic paint. We based all of our accessories from a rug that was purchased a few years ago which has a very casual pattern. We pulled the muted yellow color out of the rug and purchased two yellow modern sofas to complete the look. We enjoy both a combination of modern, traditional and eclectic furnishings in our home.

Fun easy technique! Basecoat walls in your color choice (satin or eggshell finish. Then apply 2-3 (or more metallic paints with trowel in a downward motion. Trowels can be plastic or rubber. You'll get many different patterns and it's fun to do! xoxo

We have a collection of inherited pieces, gifts, impulse purchases, and a piano that never worked or fit into our small space until now. Inspired by HGTV programs, I decided it was time to try again. The color scheme came from the painting over the fireplace. I added some fun textures (metallic paint on the fireplace and furry area rug, and rearranged the room. We love the new atmosphere and enjoy sipping our evening cocktails in this room, which also seems to be a big hit with our two cats. The metal bowl on the coffee table was a chip 'n dip wedding present over 20 years ago, but it works great with a big candle surrounded by a small agate rock collection. The matches go in the small end. We found this coffee table in our old barn where we used to live. We cut off the legs and had to flip the top boards over because they were covered with globs of paint. It's one of our favorite pieces.

We moved into a house that was built in 1972. It hasn't been updated since the trendy owners/builders put up the gaudy butterfly wallpaper and installed fluorescent bar lights on the sides of the mirror. (You should see the harvest-gold festival in our kitchen...
We would LOVE to renovate this space into a contemporary guest/master bath if such a quandary is possible.

We did the ceiling of this dome in a metallic bronze then used a tabaco glaze over top of it. We also used upholsery nails for a little extra something!! The bottom section we did in a tea stain glaze.
