From a room to view TV to a complete makeover media room. Our 12' x 22' 16 ft ceiling room is now our home theatre. Chianti red double entry doors with awesome lion door handles (MGM LION. Enter into a theatre complete with Chianti red painted walls and ceiling. Leather reclining theatre seating with base ambient lighting. Surround sound, wet bar turned into consession stand with commercial popcorn popper. Former coat closet turned into dvd storage with floor to ceiling shelves. We will be installing soon a roll down screen on the wall above the tv and a projector to view movies. we plan to keep the TV for viewing HGTV. We achieved the dark space that you expect when going to the movies.
The colors we used were recommended by professionals. The red appears bright in our photos but in reality is subdued.

Our living room needs help. The shape is long and narrow, and I've done the best furniture configuration I can, but I'm still not satisfied. Yes, I -know- it's chaos, but I need some advice to -FIX- it. Can't have floor-length curtains b/c cats tear them up -- they climbed up the ones in the bedroom and shredded them.

Our kitchen, dining area, and living area all comprise one long open space, so the style in one area affects the others. It is difficult to create a unified space that still serves three separate functions. To make it even more challenging, each owner has added new features, none of which complement the previous choices. So, gray tile clashes with the faux wood cabinets, and our contemporary furniture clashes with the country chair rail and wallpaper pattern. We have really been at a loss as to how to start attacking this space because it feels like we would have to gut it and start from scratch. It's just completely overwhelming. Also, we don't have a complete vision of what to do if we had a blank canvas. We tend to like the clean lines of contemporary furniture, but we are also partial to an Italian style kitchen that would reflect my husband's family background. How can we marry the two styles: old Italian yet contemporary?

Awkward Media Room. I have no idea what color to paint, plus not sure where to end the paints because the room leads into so many other rooms. Odd shaped angles which makes it impossible for me to pick out art for my walls. Outdated, fireplace that's not up to code, ugly mantle, doesn't even meet up to the wall correctly there is a gap between side of fireplace and the wall. Water damaged ugly popcorn celings. I think you get the hint this room is in desperate need. My vcr and tivo are dangerously hanging over the tv because no shelf for the componets. It is a disaster waiting to happen for them to come crashing down.

An above garage renovation, this space is used as a guest bedroom and living space for the grandchildren. Built in beds, bookcases, a media center, and hidden storage make great use of knee-wall space. The nautical colors are perfect for this beach home.

This is the gameroom in our house and is used for entertaining viewing movies video games etc. The problem is the space has no true definition and lacks a consistant style. This room has given us the most difficulty as far as establishing a cohesive and functional design for the space. We Need Help!

Please leave me any tips on changes I need! Would be most appreciated. The floor plan seems unique. Right from the front door the layout grabs your attention. It's really not that different but everyone who sees it says "wow, this is awesome!". There is just something special about it. At times the feeling is almost surreal yet so comforting. The miracle is the location, price, and even qualifying 1 1/2 yrs ago, right before the banks folded. With our past financial problems, that we even own a home is truly a miracle. It's an unbelievable gift from heaven that everyone seems to sense and I'm truly thankful every day. To us it is a castle.

Our stark white, cold, damp, dark, awkward shaped bedroom. So much room and yet we don't know where to begin with it. Its a Master Disaster bedroom and like any bedroom it is overwhelming and horrific to watch.

This is a second home in Florida that lacked storage and interest. So I designed the built in storage unit and a valance over the patio doors to add a little more interest and storage. The TV unit makes the entertainment a little more refined. It was built in paint grade plywood veneers. I did the painting. The screen on the cabinet that holds the sound system and other electronics is rug hooking fabric painted the same color as the cabinets. It's inexpensive and the controls shoot through it perfectly.
