My porch was going to be my next project, but in order to save money, I decided to not buy anything new and try to find things I had around the house to make this space be a continuation of the rest of the house decor. So, I had a can of spray paint and began moving things around! Our family loves to surf and stand-up paddle so I put the stand-up paddle book on the shelf. All the candles in lanterns light up, so it's warm and inviting in the evening. I spray painted some of the planters and the table black. So, this is definitely a work-in-progress and uncompleted until I find something else!

This is our backyard that is on the river. We had to tear out our deck in order for sandbags to be placed to protect our home because of rising waters. Now we are left with a mess and would like help with putting our home back together. We need to build up the bank with some kind of landscaping and rebuild a deck. It has been a very stressful last 5months.

I was going for a mission style look. After we painted I admit I was a bit scared because I thought it looked like I had stepped into McDonalds. Once the boarder went up everything started coming together. The leaf theme happened quite by accident. I bought the border first and put it up. I found the rug on clearence at Home Depot and it matched perfectly. About a month later I ran across the sconces at Linens 'n Things. I'm still in the process of decorating and would love any suggestions.

I love helping take of God's Green Earth. I have several gardens. One is enclosed to grow vegetables deer will otherwise eat. All get varying degrees of sunlight. All grow beautiful plants and flowers. I love being out there, weeding, cutting, watering, and getting all messed up digging and planting.

With all of the depressing economic news lately I needed some inexpensive therapy. Luckily for me one maple had an incredibly vibrant fall display. After harvesting some of the finest leaves I glued them to my door then clear polyurethaned over them. Needing still a bit more therapy I took a Q-Tip and painted all the stems. Not only did I enjoy doing this but it truly took my mind off the world for about 4 hours! I wish I had more doors!
