My parents have a 16 room two story home which has been featured in every magazine imaginable. My mom was the talent behind the design. She passed away in 2008 and my twin sister and I keep her gardens alive. We give tours throughout the year as my mom's legacy lives on.

I love spending time out here reading and having my morning coffee and night time adult beverage. Anyone care to join me. We give garden tours. I love it in the spring, however the summer has lots of flowers. The downside is in the Fall and Winter it doesn't look so inviting.

My gardening style is quite relaxed. I have objects of all sorts and sizes in my garden. Some are meant for the garden and some have been repurposed. Tasteful placement of various and interesting objects is an important element in my gardens. Objects can be used as focal points or as semi-hidden surprises as you stroll around your yard.
It's the east 'half' of an 1884 double house. A simple box of a house, with a modest footprint, but it lives large and very comfortably thanks to a little upfront planning. And loads of closets and built-ins.

This living room had a gorgeous monochromatic color scheme which was classic but contemporary. It needed an explanation point to make the space more dynamic.
I used her curtains as the inspiration to bring more pattern and texture into the space I hand-crafted textured art panels with custom designed patterns to give the room more dimension but keep with the clean lines. The finished room shows this was just what was needed to complete the space.

This was an open floor plan home in San Francisco that I was hired to stage. The majority of the main floor was painted a very dark, charcoal-taupe color and was furnished by the client's designer with often very good but somewhat moody furniture, art and accessories. I had the main floor repainted a soft, creamy neutral color, then furnished it with some of the client's existing designer furniture and some of my staging furniture along with some great art from Joan Elan Davis.

Kept things simple - and VERY affordable - with this from-scratch kitchen (someone had stolen everything before the house went on the market, so we got to start fresh. Started with maple cabinets, added the open shelving later. That section is a combo of IKEA shelving, Home Depot bases and a butcher block top from a local company. Ii still have to decide on a color for the non-brick wall... What do you think? Red (at top or light khaki (backsplash area?

Creative use of 4 foot tall crawl/storage space. Formerly our storage - area you have to climb up and in to get into. I needed a studio space. Living in the city and abutted by other buildings...there was no where else to look for extra space! So with 4 feet of unimpeded head room (5 feet between floor joists – I can stand up straight!...my hobbit hole studio space was created! It has a window, running water, electricity, lights, storage between heating ducts, my bench, work surfaces, anvil, kiln, tools....and all seats on wheels so you don't have to stand very often! You can roll from station to station! Just remember to climb up and crawl in! Believe it or not - it works really well!

Most of our art are gifts from relatives. We decided to make an "art gallery" using our two-story foyer. We custom framed the hand-painted textile, masks and oil paintings ourselves using scrap wood trim and crown molding.

My living room walls are huge with high ceilings. Even my large paintings looked dwarfed by the wall. So I painted a large wall art graphic of seabirds that compliments the imagery in the my original Metaphor paintings. Adding tall glass decorative accent pieces gives height to the table and pulls the whole wall space together with a contemporary look. It now has the WOW factor.
