  • Lake House Living Room, This is our newest project, little by little we are finishing off what we envisioned.   • Fine Lake home "not" so fine! We need HELP with color., Our house needs a new look! What color should we paint the window trim, the decking, and handrail. The house needs some character with landscaping as well. Also looking for advise on decorating the deck with outdoor patio lights and furniture, ect. We feel that the house is too bland and it needs some character. We live in a house that is 1,600 sq. ft. on the main level, and 1,200 sq. ft. on the lower level. It has a light grey vinyl shake siding called "weathered white". The windows are trimmed out in cedar painted white. It has double hung white windows, and two white french doors facing the lake. The lakeside is considered the front. There is a front deck that wraps around to the back of the home and it is a grey Trex maintenance-free decking. The deck railing is cedar painted white with aluminum spindals. The gutter is 6 in., 1/2 round, galvalium. There is a detached garage with the same siding, trim, and gutter. There is no lanscaping to speak of. We are desparately needing advise on how to create a shabby chic look, that is fun, and inviting, but yet elegant. , Home Exterior Design
