  • This Young House's Sunroom , By far the best room in the house our sunroom had potential from the start. Three out of four walls boast huge glass windows for perfect spring breezes and stunning views. Pulling up the ugly (and smelly) carpet from the previous owner was the first thing we did and then we stained the concrete floors in a warm tuscan gold color. • This Young House's Third Bedroom, This room is truly a mutt (a combination of an extra guest bedroom as well as a craft table for gift wrapping and card writing). Although it will someday become a nursery we love that we have a designated spot to house all of our wrapping and writing supplies as well as another daybed for sleeping overflow guests. • Remodeled and ready for Show & Work, Wife said when we bought this house last year the kitchen was my #1 priority. Check out the before pictures and you'll know why. Took 7 months but we're done. Also check out the nite time shots and day shots as well as the Collage of all the functional cabinets. We spent just over $18,000 with the most being on Cabinets, Granite and Appliances. All other work was sweat equity by hubby., Kitchens Design

  • Office Floor, Inspiration was magazine photo of Dunsmuir House. Hand cut all pieces 128 total hours. Layed in Feb 1996 floor still looks good today. Wood used was Oak and Poplar. Room size is 7 x 10. Unfortunately, I had to sell this house with this floor in 2007. Thanks for all the great comments. Look forward to a countertop with a similar pattern on it in my new house, in late 2009., Home Offices Design

  • Living Room to Dining Room Conversion, Converted this unused living room space to a formal dining room all by myself. Room projects: Removed carpet sanded and stained floor; applied the Moonlit Weave paint technique to walls (Douch Boy Textured Medium and Metalic Paint); transformed dresser to buffet; upholstered buffet top and closet door; made candeleer mirror and curtains. The entire room is candelight only. With the windows being shadow boxes whenever I wanted to have more light I just lined them with more candles., Dining Rooms Design

  • Dining Room- Gorgeous "new" floors, The previous owners of our house put UGLY linoleum down over the kitchen hallway and dining room floors when they took down the wall between kitchen and dining room. So far we've yanked up the linoleum and refinished the dining room floors which look gorgeous! New paint and curtains and this room is almost done (once we get a new table and chairs!), Dining Rooms Design

  • Retro Modern Living and Kitchen Combo, I was inspired by the Cheesecake Factory on Michigan Avenue in Chicago so I told my husband to cover our support poles with galvazined steele. Also note the pendants and my "fav" CD holders as well as the Crate and Barrel airy shelves I savor. They are wonderful as room dividers. Enjoy., Living Rooms Design

  • Can't change your mind in this bathroom, its to small. But finally some progress., This is the main floor bathroom and is off the kitchen. The house was built around 1910 and this part of the house was an addition( Not sure when). Its small, only 6' long x 4.5' wide (not including space in the shower/bathtub) I have to go out to change my mind. Its hard for me and my wife to be in there at the same time. Please post any idea's to make the room larger or look larger. , Bathrooms Design

  • Dr. Luther Kemp House-1908, This is a virtual tour of our 1908 house built for Uniontown Maryland's Dr. Luther Kemp. The wall papers are Bradbury and Bradbury. This home is late Victorian--actually part of domestic home movement. All woodwork is original. Before we purchased it this was a bed and breakfast--although we totally redressed the house for our design sensibilities. We hope you enjoy!, Living Rooms Design

  • Wine Jail, Wasted space under the stairs was turned into a wine jail with a custom built wrought iron gate (with hidden storage space behind the 160 bottle wine rack). It's not only functional but added a hint of wine country charm and whimsy to the otherwise blah hallway., Dining Rooms Design
