The tile on the wall is yellow with maroon trim. The wall color was the best match. The floor tiles are old. This kitchen is very small and the cabinets are very old. It is hard for two people to work together because we keep bumping into each other. The way that it is set up the kitchen is very disconnected from the living room and most of the dining room. The door on the refrigerator when opened blocks the doorway into the kitchen. There is not enough counter space so there is a small table.

Here I worked with an American family of four living overseas in Singapore for nearly 5 years now. They have grown to love and obtain many pieces throughout their travels. Here's how we incorporated them into a comfortable living environment in their permanent home here in sunny Arizona! Their goal.....comfort comfort comfort with a slight reminder of their home in Singapore. (Btw a stunning area rug was added post photos that really ground the space and pulled all the colors together!

Welcome to my kitchen renovation…so glad you stopped by! The before picture says it all…dreary dark and stuck in the 80’s with the beige-colored formica counter tops and backsplash. You can’t see it in the photo but a previous homeowner had managed to badly melt the countertop in two spots. (LOL Definitely time for a change! :- Hope you enjoy the new look and I'd love for you to come visit and leave me a note at: http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/

HELP -- Our kitchen needs help and a redesign. It is very small, but we have room for a table and chairs, which we need. Our laundry closet is in the kitchen and we have no other place for it. The cabinets are 80's style and the wallpaper makes my eyes bleed. I need this community's HELP!!!

This was my starter home. my husband and I worked on the kitchen and dining room for a month to give it a facelift. Since we're students, we did that as inexpensively as possible, spending $2K for the whole kitchen & dining room renovation.

We demo'd the majority of the first floor to make the kitchen liveable and put a bathroom (3/4 on the first floor of our 1920 tiny house in Pittsburgh PA. It took about 4 months, and we LOVE it! We still need to get a table in the kitchen that matches, but until I find the perfect one- what's there is what's there.

This is our kitchen that we are trying hard to redo, I am currently taking down wall paper and would like to remove the breakfast nook and add some type of island. I am currently undecided about color.

Our kitchen deserves a -3 rating right not, but we are remodeling our house room by room, and have saved the kitchen for last. The kitchen is not huge, but decent-sized, with fairly good configuration. But we HATE these cabinets with their barn door look, deep vertical grooves, and overwhelming amount of oak. My husband absolutely refuses to consider replacing the cabinets due to cost, and also the fact that he feels the cabinets themselves are perfectly good. He wants to plane the cabinet doors to get rid of the grooves, and then paint or stain. I'm not convinced this will work. For one thing, the doors seem quite thin already. I'm all for re-using what we can, but would love some suggestions for remaking the doors and adding some "furniture-like" details. Please help!

Kitchen is in an old Grist Mill, built in 1798. Just remodeled spring of 2010. Features custom made Knotty Hickory cabinets and flooring. Most of the appliances are Sears brand except for the beverage fridge. Appliances are double oven, double door fridge, 2 freezer, counter top stove, garbage disposal and half time oven/microwave. Other electronic gizmos include an video doorbell, home security system and central vac (with a dustpan in the kitchen area. The custom cabinets feature slow close drawers, spice racks on each side of range, plate rack and wine rack. Cabinets above the counter can be accessed from both sides. Apron sink and prep sink in the granite countertop. Extra overhang on the granite countertop required the use of extra support posts. The Knotty Hickory flooring custom cut in 3, 4, 5 & 6 inch widths. Hickory barstools and dining room chairs, have hickory limbs for legs and spindles, with the bark still on them. The Dining Room table was custom made of Hickory. It too has Hickory limbs with the bark on them for legs.

The basement was part of the original tri-level, and was a 22X36 room. We added a lower kitchen and media room when we remodeled and did the last addition to our home . We were able to fit the full kitchen and living area in what had been the large1970s room, complete with indoor/outdoor carpet and dark cheap paneling. YUCK! <LOL> It was so depressing that we only used it for storage.
We entertain often, on a large scale, and needed two full kitchens.
Since the lower level was finished, we use it as our primary kitchen. It's nice to be with the family and where our 50" TV can be seen while I cook.

This Kitchen needed a total makeover, but there really wasn't a huge budget to work with. With creative solutions and a lot of repurposing, we created that old world kitchen just dreamed about.

Our kitchen is small and outdated. The kitchen itself is large, but they only used a small portion of it for the actual kitchen. We don't have a lot of counter space or cabinets, but we do have a wonderful, walk-in pantry. Cabinets are metal and so old that they are rusting. We are planning on totally gutting the kitchen and making it bigger one day. I lost my job in May and haven't had any luck finding another one and we have 4 boys in college so now is not a good time. I did recently paint the kitchen a warm butterscotch color and re-decorated in an old world bistro theme. I think it looks nice. Minus the cabinets and counter top. lol Any suggestions would be appreciated.
