  • Studio - Tiny Space, Big Ideas (Before and After), This 483 square foot condo was a complete renovation and was a 100% DIY. Being a studio, space was obviously an issue. By using versatile furniture selections and coming up with sneaky storage solutions we were able to come up with a space that is both comfortable and inviting.

This was my first and only flip I've done since graduating with a degree in interior design. I plan on getting into the flipping business when the market turns back around.

  • My Colorado foyer!, This is the foyer in our Colorado dream home high in the mountains. I designed the heated floor with honed copper slate and the stream running through it is of black pebbles trickling away from the fountain. The ceiling is barrel vaulted heavily textured and is painted in a metallic copper paint. Walls of windows allow this room to act as a warm welcome and a 'bridge' between our public and private spaces. Welcome to my home!, Porches Design

  • My art studio and library, I am still working on this space but this is how it looks right now. Some of you asked to see more of my house so here is the next room. I am an artist and this is where I work. It is in the oldest part of the house and it was originally built in 1750 or 1760. It has not been finished so I will call this "before". • My before and after!!!, My home's exterior was in very sad shape. I wanted to be in this neighborhood for the school district and for the rural zoning so that I could build a guest house for my mom. I built the guest house a few years ago and it works great for my 83 yr old mom but I kept putting off working on the front of my house. , Home Exterior Design

  • "To the Manor Born" Family Room, Our family room was designed to literally be the "heart of the home". It is adjacent to the kitchen and the breakfast/eating area flows to the formal dining room/butler's pantry as well as the entry hall. There are no hallways - just arched openings drawing you from one room to the next. We love it!, Living Rooms Design

  • Victorian Charm in Maine, Our living room is Victorian style in keeping with our home's design. The furniture is all auction and flea market finds that my wife and I TLC'd and re-uhpolstered. Most of the accent pieces and art were also auction flea market and antique store finds. My wife Mary Anne has an amazing eye for style design and color. And if it's on an old home I can make it look pretty again. Mary Anne points and says "fix it" and off I go!, Living Rooms Design

  • Outdoor Oasis, The guesthouse and outdoor living areas were designed, and constructed, years after the main house was built. The engagement of their daughter prompted this addition as they wanted to host her wedding reception at their country home. An absolute must with this project was to seamlessly coordinate the new addition with the main structure. The new structure was to include an outdoor kitchen, ample seating for a large number of guests, a 2BR/3BA guesthouse, an indoor kitchen and large great room. To complete this country oasis, a pool, hot-tub, and water feature, were part of the overall landscaping plan that equaled the beautiful natural surroundings of the home.

Not only does the new structure match the existing home, it accentuates and enhances the overall quality of living. The outdoor kitchen, fireplace and adequate seating areas ensure the space functions as intended. The well planned outdoor kitchen complete with gas rotisserie grill, smoker, secondary gas burner, ample storage, and refrigerator is perfect for preparing family meals or hosting parties.

The pergola and outdoor dining table give one the sense of being in Italy. The sound of falling water down the rock wall water-feature, the glow of candlelight, and perfectly placed outdoor focal lighting all add to the ambiance.

The wood-burning fireplace sets a tone of relaxation and is frequently a gathering place for family and friends to enjoy. Attentions to detail, including mosquito misters, ample electrical outlets, plentiful storage, and easy-wear, easy-care materials make this dream backyard as comfortable as it is carefree.

  • Kitchen & Nook, Kitchen opens to nook & living room. When we bought it the walls were the same color as the cabinetry so we revved it up with Ralph Lauren's Barn Red wall paint. I found some vintage shutters and painted them using the same color with some tobacco glaze over them to add a bit more color and give the space a little more personalized feel., Kitchens Design

  • Mixin' It Up! B & A Tour, Using half of the homeowner furnishings and half staging inventory shows how to mix it up to create a more sellable home. I share these so that whether you are trying to sell your home, or if you are just looking for ways to reinvent your home for everyday living, you may be able to look for some new ways to repurpose your furnishings just with some rearranging or accessorizing. Even dated furnishings can look more current if you just bring in the right accessories. This can be a very cost effective solution to starting from scratch, before you can afford to do a full redesign. Unlike my previous post, which was a very small home redesigned, this home was enormous-over 5,200 sq. ft. of dated rooms! We had to use as much as possible of the homeowners, but some things were deal breakers as you will see throughout the tour of before and afters. , Living Rooms Design
