  • Bode's Junior Varsity Nursery, We wanted a nursery that was adorable for our new baby boy but also a space that would grow with him too. I wanted rich colors that would match the other decor in our home and that is why we went with a deep red/navy/khaki pallet. My husband is a high school teacher and coach so of course a sports theme was a must!, Nurseries Design

  • Our Little Slugger's Varsity Room, Walls the color of chocolate milk are accented with a wall that is a denim blue. (two things little boys love, right?). The painted varsity numbers bordering the room reflect numbers of favorite sports stars (including his very own dad's numbers from little leagues & high school). The quilt is a hand quilted gift from grandma. The basket of baseballs/softballs include a collection of balls played with through the years by important people in our "little slugger's" life. His name is monogrammed on unique textured papers that resemble a football, a basketball, & a baseball. Handcrafted on distressed scrap wood. This nursery will easily transition into his toddler room. , Boys' Rooms Design

  • vballprincess859 - Junior Year, same decorations since Freshmen Year, I have the typical dorm room restrictions - no paint, limited hanging on the walls, and not much space.

I bought most of this stuff freshmen year while I was bargain shopping - spent under $200 including lamps, butterfly chair, and bedding.

Since then I've added a few things here and there, but most of it is original. Since I'm keeping about the same decorations every year, I wanted to try to rearrange every year so the room looks different. Perhaps I'll put up other years for fun.

I'm including some pictures so you can see what comes with the room when it starts out. I use all the standard furniture (I'm too cheap to pay the substantial service fee to have it removed), and that is a bit of a challenge considering the furniture isn't particularly attractive.

I'd also like a way to dull down the bright light that comes through the room. I'm used to being on the other side of the building where the window light isn't as harsh. Maybe I will find some window treatments for this year.

Anyway, I've had fun trying new things these last few years, and I hope you enjoy. , Dorm Rooms Design

  • Junior Year Dorm Room/Rented Room, I'm renting a room from a family near the university this year...they turned their attic into a small 2-bedroom apartment with a small bathroom and kitchenette. I'm not allowed to paint and the desk bed and dresser were all included with the room. I like it though and it's a relaxing room to come home to at the end of a hectic day of classes and rehearsals. Comments and/or constructive criticism is welcomed! (especially if you rate - I'd love to know what you love and what you hate), Dorm Rooms Design
