  • Major surgery, We used to have a galley kitchen and small living area on the opposite side of the wall. We removed the wall between the kitchen and living room and installed a kitchen island and made the main part of the house into a great room. The pillars were necessary to run gas and electricity to the island. We decided to go with the island hood because that was where the existing vent system was. A downdraft would have been ideal, but I think the stainless hood adds quite a bit of character., Kitchens Design

  • 50's Ranch turned modern cottage, We've worked for the past 10 yrs to remodel our 1951 ranch. Our kitchen was a typical 50's kitchen. I drew out plans with pencil and paper of what I wanted and we gutted it!!!!! Other than cabinetry and some trim work we did the rest from texturing to painting to wood fill caulking subway tile back splash and staining the ceiling bead board. Our kitchen also features a roll away island that I designed. It's housed under wall mounted antique china hutch. , Kitchens Design

  • New Contemporary Cherry Kitchen with Stainless Steel Appliances and Granite Countertops, Finally I have a kitchen I can be proud to cook in! It took 7 months to blow out my existing galley kitchen and add this space(plus a mudroom 1/2 bath and garage). I also get tons of sunlight due to the windows by the sink and the skylights.   • Grand Vision on a Budget, Our 1990's kitchen needed some style. While planning our kitchen we were told it would cost $60000.- 100000. to get the look I wanted.   • Cabinets to the Ceiling, I love them!, I love having our cabinets go up to the ceiling. I never got the hang of 'decorating' the 12" space on top of cabinets. The countertops are a high gloss Formica. I am still debating on granite. I would like a sleeker solid surface but not all black. And I'm afraid of them always looking dirty if I do a solid color.   • Sleek Contemporary Dream Kitchen, I've updated the photos. Our contemportary kitchen has cherry wood espresso stained Shaker style cabinets and GE Monogram appliances including a wonderful 30" double wall oven. We have Blue Night granite countertops and beautiful blue glass backsplashes. The final accents are red pendants in the center of the kitchen above our island which also houses our wine cellar. Our floors are concrete-like tiles.I appreciate any feedback - both positive and constructive., Kitchens Design
