  • eclectic deco, This is an apartment - with large windows, that bring in great light! The room serves three purposes: kitchen, eating area, and living room...all in one. It was a bit of challenge to work with one big open space. We started with the colorful ottoman and worked around that. I was a bit worried about combining all the different styles of furniture but am hoping it worked out! (vintage ottoman, retro leather chair, modern bar stools, and French country table). Overall, I feel pretty comfortable in the space and think it turned out allright., Living Rooms Design

  • Neutral Living Room, We haven't done much in here except paint the walls a neutral beige color. I would love some color inspiration... I tend to lean towards "safe" colors, and feel stumped with this living room. With our dark wood trim and our brown and beige furnishings I have no idea what color would look good on the walls. Any suggestions???, Living Rooms Design

  • Cozy, Inviting Living Room, We pulled up the carpet and put in hardwood floors and painted. Used existing furniture, but changed accessories to include red accents and new window treatments. We were hoping to make the room warm and inviting, and I think we pulled it together. But would greatly appreciate any comments given for improvements., Living Rooms Design

  • Contemporary style with a Mediterranean touch, Large great room with open kitchen. Want contemporary style with a Mediterranean feel. Was inspired by HGTV 2009 Home sweepstakes to use the Cosmos (blue) in some areas - not finished and not sure if we should...and Bagel in our hallway and up the stairs. Then unsure about our flooring. Still have vinyl in kitchen area, and pulled up most of the carpet in great room. Don't know if stained concrete, tile, or wood floors would suit us best financially and with little ones and dogs. Suggestions welcomed., Media Rooms Design

  • Contemporary style wanted, HI HGTV viewers! This is a picture of our living and dining area. We are in over our heads! I originally sent pics for ideas, but now we are expecting our second child (hope all goes well) and I am limited to helping my poor husband with the many projects we have started. Currently we have some carpeting, little tile by front door, and concrete. Our orignial project was to do stained concrete and new carpeting. I wish I could take the some of the HGTV shows and just place them in my rooms. I would love to have a finished home someday...especially now with a little one on the way. , Living Rooms Design

  • Holiday Inspired Guest Room, I created a guest room for my brother who is coming to visit for Christmas. I wanted the room to feel festive and cozy. I purchased a red comforter set and some pillows. I also brought in a large scale mirror and placed it behind the bed which acts like a headboard. I added some lit garland and hung a holiday wreath from the middle of the mirror. I think the room feels warm and cozy. I hope you like it and I hope my brother enjoys his visit and is comfortable in our new guest room. =) Happy Holidays! , Holidays Design

  • Our Garden Oasis. A work in progress., We have been trying to fix up our backyard for the last two years and decided that this year (our 3rd living in this house) was the year we were going to make it happen.

We had our vinyl fence installed a month ago and just finished building our patio in the rear of the yard (First time ever building a stone patio!)

We assembled our gazebo and just laid down grass seeds across the space to try and grow some grass before the hot summer months.

The pictures show our space as it is now, a work in progress.

We are now in search of ideas, tips, suggestions for what to do with the yard to tie it all together. We want the garden to pop with vibrant life and color but don't know where to start. We have about a 4' by 15' patch of ground behind the gazebo that we think we'd like to use to plant some colorful shrubs, plants and trees and maybe a fountain or water fixture or maybe a fire pit.

We have another smaller paved area (15' x 5') at the front of the yard before the deck which we keep our gas grill on and set up some seating but we'd like to transform this area as well into a more comfortable seating area that can be used to relax and entertain guest.

We then have a nice sized deck area attached to the back of house. This space is about 15' x 16' and we have a double size outdoor sofa and our 6 seat table here. again, looking for ideas to make this all pop and come together with life and warmth and color that inviting and relaxing for nights together or nights shared with family and friends., Gardens Design

  • Elegant Entertaining, join us for cocktails, Entertaining in a sophisticated and relaxing atmosphere was thought out in the design of this room. A game table in the corner multi purposes itself as a place for an intimate dinner with another couple. The chairs provide additional seating for the living room when entertaining additional guests. The lighting is designed to showcase art throughout the room and provides a warm elegant glow at night. This is a room of texture, and contrasts. Artwork gives the room the "punch" of color it needs., Living Rooms Design
