  • Awkward Kitchen Nook -- Suggestions, please!, I had the kitchen completely remodeled. The contractors put in a desk/nook area, but I think it's outdated. In addition, the drawer is way too big, so your legs can't fit underneath when sitting there. The shape of the space is awkward because it slopes inward toward the top (it used to be an indoor grill from the 60s)--the shape cannot be changed due to structural support issues. The brick shaping on the front can be changed. I was thinking about a custom-made wine fridge--any other suggestions for re-model would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!, Kitchens Design

  • Porch for Entertaining, We transformed our recently added New England porch with bright blue accents and tiled the floor to match the kitchen to extend living space. We created both a casual seating area and an eating space. We also added a gas line for a grill inside the porch allowing for year around grilling even with snow! The tiles on the the tables were all white which looked very sterile so we purchased 2 additional colors of tile and made a checkboard for a warmer more fun approach. • Living Room Remodel - hid old paneling!, This is our living room with a awesome indoor charcoal grill. We sanded and refinished the floors, stuccoed the walls to make that old paneling disappear, added some baseboards, and painted everything.

What are some good ideas to replace the outdated gold fireplace trim?

I am thinking a white coffee table? any suggestions for a good one?

  • No Back Yard - So We Made the Roof a Garden!, We live in the city! Our backyard is another building. Except a small patch of grass in the front of our house...we have no yard at all! So we took over the roof! We planters in containers! The lower roof area is devoted to vegetable gardening. The upper area is for relaxing and perennial plants. Besides flowers we have fruit trees, grape vines and more! We have a seating area and a dining area. Eventually we will add a pergola for the wisteria and winter hardy kiwi vines to climb. We added a drip watering system this year!, Gardens Design

  • Indoor Pool and Exercise Room, We recently added this new endless pool and excercise room. There is a partially inground pool which we trimmed with azek and stone. The floor is grey tile. We struggled with wall colors then decided to use the chair pillows and a theme and found Ralph Lauren colors to match. We're really enjoying the space and hope you like it., Pools Design

  • indoor pool, Like many people in these times we are finding if difficult to afford our home on our own. We need to turn this unused area into livable/art studio space. We would like to go green and possibly use the pool to heat our home. We have a very limited budget. We have considered floating docks and would like a urban loft look. Any and all innovative ideas appreciated, even extreme alternatives!!! , Pools Design
