  • Advice for Room, This is a stock photo of the bedding set I am going to use in my daughters room. She will be turning eight soon and I am going to redecorate her room. She has a fairly small bedroom, 12 x 10 with one north facing window on the 10' wall, so there isnt alot of space to work with. I have a metal headboard in the same color as the one shown in the photo. I like cream for the walls with a very, very light blue for the ceiling. She prefers all blue walls. I definitely want this room to grow with her, and dont want to repaint anytime soon. Any suggestions would be great!, Girls' Rooms Design

  • Flower Garden - a work in progress, I have a large privacy fence that needed a focal point. I created an area of mulch and planted some flowers. Each year, I keep adding things to the area. Right now, I took an old mirror from my storage room, placed in front of my beautiful hydrangea plant, along with some grass, roses and I took a firebowl that burned through and used it as a flowerpot. I have an old screen against the fence. I will continue to add...ideas???, Gardens Design

  • Backyard Project, Just had rock and sod added to this space. This is the north side of the house lots of shade but I laid out the planting bed so it gets at least 5 hours of sun. Thinking of planting Hydrangas, Azela and clumping grasses. , Yards Design

  • Urban rock garden, This shaded space was unsightly with a row of bland bushes and nothing would grow around it. We tore out the bushes and added this simple inexpensive and low maintenance rock garden with shade plants including a small redbud tree iteas hostas climbing hydrangea and hypericum bushes. This arrangement will also provide a good deal of color during a longer season even though they are shade plants. We also added a circular planter with annuals to add even more color. , Gardens Design

  • Boring entrance, I started from scratch with this house, have tried several things trying for the country/English garden look. I recently took out some big bushes under the windows and added hydrangea bushes, which are growing. The bed is about five feet deep so there is a big gap behind what I've got and in front of the hydrangeas. The big tree is non-negotiable. Can't get it moved, it's a plum tree which we love. I need advice for what to plant in the empty spots! The hydrangeas are up under the windows but are new, as I said. We are in Michigan, by the way. , Gardens Design

  • Liquidscapes, Pool Environments!! When you start thinking about a pool, think more in terms of it as a "Pool Environment" and living space. Think more in terms of how you want your space to function and be used, because that is what will define the space in many ways!!, Pools Design

  • Landscaping, I did not like all the green plain bushes in front on my house, so I attempted to give it a boost of curb appeal with more colorful plants.

I placed assorted azaleas and hostas near one of the existing crape mrytles on the right side of the house, I also place a water feature to fill in the space.

After I pulled out the green plain bushes from in front of the house, I create a planting bed which I planted hydrangea and variegated bushes for more color.

I also attempted to work on the area to the left of my door in front of my dinning room. I have roses, more hydrangeas, hostas, and my statues for added interest.

I am still working on different ideas to help the curb appeal of this house. I am currently working on the far left side of the house near the garage. I am working on creating a brick walk area leading to the left side of the house. This side has a hill separating us from our neighbor. I started planting on the hill roses, plus decided to create a pond/waterfall and veggie garden along the length of the hilly path.

I will add more pictures as I continue to adjust the landscaping.

I welcome all suggestions and will take them into consideration. Thank you for viewing my space., Gardens Design

  • Dead, dying, and still trying..., This is my yard, not much to look at. It's builder basic plantings, with the addition of two dogwood trees (which just got destroyed by weather, one got snapped in half by a wind storm, the other just bent over in half due to an ice storm. Yay for Kentucky!) My neighbor says there is a lime deficency in our soil, which may expalin the sad sod. Which the builder had put in and has at least 2 in gaps between the sod sheets.

UPDATE!! The grass is green thanks to Scott's Turf Builder. Added a third flower bed, planted Hydrangeas, still have some moving of evergreens to do... Also planted two new trees... this time they're Amur Maples, should be a bit hardier than the dogwods...

  • Blue Hydrangea Dinning Room, This dinning room started as part of the living room but the walls were seperated and different widths so it didnt work well. We decided to make it a dining room especialy since we had an extra breakfeast table and parson chairs. • Jaedon's Tent, I made this tent for my son so he could make believe he was "camping" in his room. At first it was in a corner of the room but then I moved it to directly above his bed like a canopy. He likes to pull the curtains shut and read books., Boys' Rooms Design

  • Sloped Garden (Zone 8), This is my front yard. A water easement beneath the side garden gives it a slope that is difficult to work with. I planted two junipers and three boxwoods; three sets of red tulips are planted there as well. There are two huge bushes out front that hide the house from the street. I want to pull them up but wouldn't know what else to put there. I have a palm tree in front of the house, which I like because it's unique, a hydrangea and a rhodedendron bush. Four rose species flank the entry steps and porch., Gardens Design
