We really enjoy cooking in this space. The Brazilian Cherry floors are continued in the kitchen. We have added two Afghan wool carpets to add color and warmth. The counters are granite. The cabinets run floor to ceiling and are a light colored solid wood. We think the best feature of the kitchen is the lighted,top cabinets. This kitchen has lots of light with two pendant lights over the island, can lights throughout, halogen lighting under the cabinets and led lighting under the footer of the cabinets that shows off the beautiful floors. The appliances are all stainless with a double oven, convection and conventional. The large island includes a gas stove top as well as cabinets and shelves for storage. We also have a farmer sink that is deep and very functional. The large windows and French doors leading to the deck let in lots of light. There is lots of storage space but the walk in pantry is a bit small. Finally, the crumb vacume feature makes cleaning up small messes a breeze.

This bathroom hasn't been touched since at least the 1970's. We have many limitations with space, but it is much brighter and cleaner. Clawfoot Tub was turned into a shower with new fixtures.

A Taste of Tuscany..i...

These are photos of the main living area(s of my home. The space is definitely Tuscan inspired, but like all of my designs I try to balance the space with tasteful, quality furnishing and accessories that fit the space appropriately, instead of overcrowding the space with every Tuscan thing I could find. Some of the pieces were custom made, but most were store bought.
The foyer mirror was originally a different color, so in order to make it fit I painted it with gold and oil rubbed bronze spray paint and coated it with a flat varnish to finish it off. I usually have a real palm in the foyer, but it is the middle of winter and I can't find anywhere! My last one had a centipede nest in the root of the plant so needless to say it couldn't stay in the house! It took me a week to figure out where those things were coming from!
I recently updated flooring upstairs as well as the railing on the steps which used to be white wooden spindles. In order to replace the railing I had to also replace the entire staircase! So to save a little bit of money I did the staining myself (what a pain!. I hope you guys enjoy the space!

We completely removed everything from the old kitchen down to the drywall and replaced it with solid maple cabinets, oil rubbed bronze knobs and pulls, stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors, new granite countertops, new travertine and glass tile backsplash, and new pendant, task and can lighting.

38 year old custom drapes have seen better days along with the carpet. I think the former, original owner of my house dropped her Thanksgiving Day Dinner on the carpet....
