I finally purchased a new couch and I love it. The couch is the Claudia Sofa from Macy's.
Now I'm still on the hunt for a new coffee table. I'm kind of getting sick of my ottoman which I had only bought because my kids were toddlers and I didn't want them to get hurt on hard edges and corners.
For the coffee table I think I will go with a gold Hollywood Regency table or a modern chrome and marble top table. Lets see what I can find in an affordable option.
A lot of people always ask me why I have light colored flooring even though that the trend is to go really dark. The reason is dust and dirt! Most of my friends that have dark floors go crazy trying to keep their dark hardwood floors looking clean. I don't, because you can't see the dust and cat hair from 4 cats as much. That is also the reason why I have a traditional persian style area rug. I actually would much rather have a graphic patterned rug but they are hard to keep clean again. I've tried other rugs before. The pattern of my rug is forgiving!
That is the reason why I have the ikea pillows. They are easy to wash and keep clean. And if one is ruined, they are cheap and easy to replace.
I guess I'd rather compromise with my large busy family. Two kids and four cats do make a lot of dirt but my house mostly looks clean!

It took me three months to design my crafts room and office. I looked for versatile storage, that was neat and organized and easily accessible. I wanted the paint to be bold and vibrant, but not annoying. I also created various areas in the room for certain crafts like; scrapbooking, gift wrapping, painting, sewing, and bow making. I love this room and spend hours everyday creating!

Keeping with our modern with an Asian touch we painted our bedroom a cool grey. Our furniture is all espresso with a blue glass top. Since we hung our TV over the dresser we used the mirror that came with it on the opposite wall. I love the white curtains. We feel like the room is very close to being "there" but is missing some finishing touches.

This room used to be drk reds with forest greens I couldnt wait to brighten it up. Still needs wall lighting and window treatments. I would love to hear your comments. I added window treatments an played around with pillows found an end table/ semi round that can go against couch or wall... Would love to her opinions on the changes...

Simple Serenity was created with a cool grey background with soft white linen drapes hanging on silver rods with glass finials. An upholstered headboard adored with white, black, and grey accents pillows. A double wide dresser with matching nightstand with crystal and mercury glass accessories. Room is lit with touch activatied floor lamp, crystal lamp with black shade that's also touch activated by nightstand strip, and brushed stainless steel ceiling fan with dark wood blades to match furniture.

This room was blue when I moved in. I painted it hot pink!! The pink was different but it hurt my head after a while. SO back to blue, but a better blue. I painted the ceiling dark brown partly as an experiment to see if I would like it, and partly to hide the imperfections, cracks, bumps, and glued on stars!!! Turns out, I do love a brown ceiling and have since painted the bedroom ceiling and will soon paint the bathroom. Anyone thinking about painting a ceiling dark brown....don't be afraid!! Although I must say, I think white crown molding is a must in such an endeavor.
So anyway, this is my favorite room so far but I am open to any suggestions you may have. Several minds are better than one.

Our stark white, cold, damp, dark, awkward shaped bedroom. So much room and yet we don't know where to begin with it. Its a Master Disaster bedroom and like any bedroom it is overwhelming and horrific to watch.

Our room was a blank canvas with beige walls and gorgeous floors. We took this space from bland to beautiful with all of out friends commenting on how our space could be off of HGTV! I guess now it will be : Let us know your thoughts; we love our space!
