  • My (non-hunter) Hunting Lodge Bedroom, My (non-hunter) hunting lodge, cave-like bedroom: I built the very large headboard with wood molding then upolstered four padded squares and buttons with black cordoroy. I enjoy the large scale of it in the small room...very dramatic. I also painted a couple of kid's trophies for accent color. I got the koolio Bollywood pillow at CB2!, Bedrooms Design

  • First House, Organic Modern Living Wanna Be, I was going for a grey color on the walls but instead got this blueish grey and now I am lost because everything I saw in my head won't work with the color now. I love modern with organic and natural touches in fabrics and accessories. I bought the furniture set from online want ads because we had nothing to put in the space. I need a direction for color scheme and design on a budget!!!, Living Rooms Design

I also have to upholster the chair. Im most proud of our bed. My husband and I built it. We made many changes including building up the baseboards changing out trim on doors, trimmed out the window and painted. Its coming along. I tried to balance the masculine and feminine in the space. need to find a rug also.. for more detail and tutorials visit my blog @ http://imperfectlyimaginable.blogspot.com/2013/11/restoration-hardware-finish-tutorial.html, Bedrooms Design

  • Making My Apartment My Own, When I moved in it was a typical apartment and I had typical 20 year old college furniture. White walls and Ikea everywhere. I spent a month or so designing the entire space on a 3D program, making changes, getting inspiration everywhere I could find some. Many of my furniture I found on Craigslist for a bargain and it was either painted or otherwise refurbished to fit my space.

When I moved in the space where my book case exists was just an empty recess in the wall. Obviously I had to build a bookshelf in there.

I installed the picture frame molding myself and swapped all of the light fixtures and wall fixtures.

The light above the dining table was a CL find. I painted it black, extended the chain, omitted the shades and crystals.

The china cabinet was a $100 CL find. Built by the original owner's grandfather. I painted it white with a grey back on the interior to offset white china.

The fireplace was a $50 CL find I painted it white, added a wood medallion, and built an enclosure on the back so the fireplace would not be open to the wall making it a little more realistic.

The mirror above the couch is a beautiful mercury glass mirror from around 1900. My dad found it in an estate he bought. He painted it white and gave it to me as a gift.

Couch, rug, dining set, side tables, and accent chair are new., Living Rooms Design

  • Master Suite, The master bedroom got a much needed face lift after changing our master bathroom from red rage to naturally neutral. We needed something to coordinate with the neutral bathroom, but we didn't want more brown so we went with a Mega Greige color by Sherwin-Williams and some touches of blue throughout the space. I made faux roman shade valences to coordinate with the West Elm bedspread and to add some contrasting fabric pattern. , Bedrooms Design
