  • Buhbye Sea of Oakiness :), Our 14 year old worn and yellowed but structurally sound oak cabinets got a facelift. The space feels larger and much, much brighter! We used rustoleum kitchen transformations in linen, unglazed and espresso, glazed. The project took us 8 weeks. Still have floor to do but so happy the cabinets are done!, Kitchens Design

  • Kitchen In Need Of Warmth, We bought our house last year and I have no idea how to make my kitchen warm and cozy. I've recently added hardware to my cabinets and didn't realize it could make such a difference. I'm now looking for a new color for the walls. I want the space to be warm and cozy and I love rich, earth tones. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance., Kitchens Design

Blanco double sink, Moen oil rubbed bronze faucet, Tuscan stye knobs & pulls & old world granite. New appliances to suit two people most of the time. Kitchenaid two drawer dishwasher, Maytag microwave, double oven stove with five burners & french door refrigerator. I wanted to keep my copper backsplash & wood floors. • big but blah master bath, My large bathroom has some excellent features like good light and lots of room and a WC, but it is really dated, and there is no place for storage or even to hang a towel, except over the shower. Shower door broke long ago and have been using a plastic curtain. I hate the carpet and the tub is downright dangerous. , Bathrooms Design

  • oak overload, Hello, we have a dull totaly oak kitchen. We are thinking of updating it. It is an open valted cieling room, which includes the dining room and living room. The kitchen has all oak cabinets and so is the trim and floor. White was our first thought for the cabinets and a darker wood for the floors, but would that go with the trim?, Kitchens Design

  • Kitchen before update, This is my kitchen that was recently updated. Notice the large unusual cabinet over the peninsula. I had a cabinet maker take that out and build another cabinet . You will notice some rope trim sample taped on top of crown molding. I will add pictures once it has been added., Kitchens Design

  • From Golden Oak to Modern Elegance, We're finally finished our kitchen makeover (well... almost). We had our builders golden oak cabinets stained dark, made over our kitchen island, added a mosaic tile back splash and under cabinet lighting as well as a dramatic crystal light over the island. We still want to replace the counter top on the island and bar areas so they extend out further to better accommodate seating. Any suggestions on color (black/gray/white speckled granite or stick with white - perhaps marble)?, Kitchens Design

  • Coastal Winter Wonderland, Our newly-updated living room! We installed batten and board molding - 1 x 3.5'' smooth, pine boards from Lowes, painted white - very inexpensive, and well worth it, despite being labor intensive. I removed some of the shelves from the previously oak bookshelves and hung crisp black and white pictures in the space for a gallery look. We removed the old brass fireplace surround and replaced it with a simple black one from Target. The drapes are modern black damask (94") from Target that are hung from the ceiling. The blue-gray upper wall color is "Loam" from Lowes. Silver and glass lanterns are from Kohl's. Pillows are from Kohl's and Wal-Mart and throws are from Target and Ralph Lauren. Hope you like it!, Living Rooms Design
