  • Intimate and Inviting SMALL Dining Room, Hi This is a repost of my dining room. I have made small changes such as adding black shades on the light fixture & new accessories on the buffet. Faux diamond treatment with a brown glaze on the walls. Upholstery tacks were used at the intersection of each diamond. Purchased the silk plaid fabric & had the drapery panels made. They are hung with finials screwed into the wall. Recovered the chairs with coordinating fabric. , Dining Rooms Design

  • $1,200-Budget Pad-Revised, I'm a student in LA and everything is so expensive. However the new place I just moved in was so ugly making me depressed so I had to do something. After a month of work a $1200 budget and too many trips to Ikea HomeDepot and art stores I have finished my very first decorated 1-bedroom apartment that is truly me (and my financial status still remains sound). I also made all the weird art pieces on the walls (~$30 each) from styrofoam and snap-off blade knife (see my comments on pic#7), Living Rooms Design

  • My Kitchen's now SOOOOOOOO much smaller!, We moved from a home that had a huge kitchen with a large center island. I was forever running circles around it to get to the fridge the stove and the sink. With a little less elbow room and a lot less to clean it perfectly fits our needs!, Kitchens Design

  • A Leap of Faith, Many years of white walls and we took the plunge and painted our kitchen red. Everything in the room popped! We are in the process of changing from our 12 yr old "gold" hardware to brushed nickel. I know I have to remove most of the "stuff" over the top cabinets ..I am just dreading the dust avalanche. , Kitchens Design

  • Relaxing, warm living, We reworked the furniture arrangement based on lots of advice... I think it allows more focus on the fireplace center now. Thanks for the suggestions! The chest was an old find that I refinished and my husband applied trimwork on. I then hand-painted the design on both sides and used "rub-n-buff" in gold to highlight. I also "fauxed" the mantel. It was painted white when we moved in and I used a product called Stain and Seal to look like wood and then highlighted with the rub-n-buff. , Living Rooms Design

  • Sofia's Nursey - Unique and chic, I created this room for my daughter who was born Feb 1st, 09. I've always loved shades of "Tiffany" blue - Diamond Vogal paint, "Cobalt Blue". I am so happy with how the hand painted wall tree mural turned out. I taped (double sided tape) large silk peonies to the wall to add demension. The painted leaves are gold metallic. I also painted a peacock last minute. This was all painted in just a couple of days when I was nine months pregnant. I finally got the Pottery Barn Catelina magazine wall rack that I've had my eye on for a year now (roughly $100). A previously used mirror from another location in the house serves as her dressor mirror (I think it was from Home Depot for about $99). It's a little larger than I think I would have liked ideally, but I think it works nicely. Corner antique cream estate sale table $27. Two white wall shelves, Hobby Lobby. A safe hand me down crib from Grandma's house, and the white dressor is from American furniture, roughly $350. Curtains are discontinued target Shabby Chic collection from Ebay. Chandelier $130. Brown side table, flea market find $30. I had actually given myself a nice budget for this room when I started, but it all just fell together without spending very much at all. Enjoy! *** The bumper and the fitted sheet are from Target from the Shabby Chic collection ordered online. The bumper has a chenille side and a quilited side - I chose to put the chenille side out. ***, Nurseries Design
