  • Georgia Holiday Sparkle, Brown and Green Christmas decor with lots of sparkle. I've picked up the lime green tones we have throughout our home in our Christmas decor. Since our Great Room has a lot of neutrals and browns, it's a perfect foil. This year we were remodeling our Master Bath, so I was without a specific for my holiday decor. I decided to just throw it all at the mantel- brown ,silver, gold and white and it worked! I always look for inspiration from new items I tuck away from the after holiday sales! I hate paying full price for anything!, Holidays Design

  • Under Starry Skies Above..., Updated: Our little piece of Heaven on earth. We really enjoy sitting on the front porch with an ice tea & love the calmness of living in a rural area. Peaceful!! Some may think that we have too many plants but it's what we enjoy doing & Summertime ends when Winter season hits & the porch is cleared off to accomodate the weather.

The above title is taken from an old song called; Don't Fence Me In by Roy Rogers & The Sons of the Pioneers. When we moved to IL from CA in '95 this is the song that inspired us. Our place may not be outstanding, compared to other places, but we love it! Too many times a few people might not appreciate just what they have or can't always see the potential. Our property IS lots of work to keep it nice but well worth it. Please ENJOY your visit to our place & Happy Trails~, Home Exterior Design

  • French Nursery...small space, big style, Our daughter's nursery is right off the foyer/living area and so I wanted it to blend with the rest of the house. We have lots of french antiques, which is what inspired the nursery. I painted the bed a blue/grey and antiqued it with gold highlights to look like it is old. My mom made the bedding and curtain from ivory/blue silk. This room is tiny, but has everything we need for a little one., Nurseries Design

  • ready to party: glam dining room setting , here is my dining room, a very small space about 10 x 11 feet, set for dinner and coffee.
(the table is usually not set)
the table is an eclectic mix. the stemware a mix of my mothers wedding crystal mixed with modern glassware from neiman marcus. the contemporary stemware pulls the drapery color, an accent of teal to the table. the casualness of this stemware helping to keep the table from becoming fussy. the china, Haviland Limoge, collected over the years on Ebay. The Limoge is a mix of patterns with the common element of color; white with gold banding. The gold plate flatware on sale from Bloomingdale's and the linen... Marshalls. I found a set of monogrammed footed cups on ebay; i love to use them as cream soups or for sorbet.

I like the contrast of the vintage china and stemware against the new modern iconic Louis Ghost chairs by Philippe Starck (as seen in multiple decor magazines, Ugly Betty set decor and purchased from MOMA), and glass table. The translucent chairs, a nod to Louis xvi styling, and the glass table disappear in this small space. Glam, chic and function all in one. Also note the zebra stenciled cow hide rug -- fun.

Hope you enjoy... now who is cooking!!!, Dining Rooms Design

  • Elegant Girl Nursery, This nursery was designed by my mother and me. This room was planned with a small budget and no professional help. Everything was painted and made ourselves. The bedding was made of remnants of fabric from "The Cotton Patch." We had a very small space to work with but we had a great time doing it! The nursery is painted peach with gold damask stenciled walls. The crib is a venetian gold canopy with custom gold and cream satin and silk bedding. An antique white armoire sits in the corner lined with pink toile fabric. A personalized "A" is painted on the wooden cornice board that tops the window. Underneath are cream shears for curtains. Gold and peach hand-painted sconces hang on each side of the closet door. The peach gerber daisies that frame the mirror add a whimsical touch to the elegant room. A simple cream minky dot chair is in another corner of the room with a peach silk and white lace pillow where a cute bunny sits. The area rug is made of flowers in a soft cream and tan. Hanging on the peach walls are two small canvases with paintings of topiaries in scrolled urns and sweet birds and bunnies. , Nurseries Design

  • Reflections ~ Mirrors and Chandeliers, When I recently bought a mirror, a Louis Philippe period mirror, I was so thrilled that it made me think about my design aesthetic: a mirror and chandelier in every room. I am so enchanted with my new (old) mirror that I wanted to highlight the mirrors and chandeliers in my favorite rooms., Other Spaces Design

  • Charlotte's Pink Eclectic and Sweet Nursery, Since the moment we found out we were expecting my brain went to work on the nursery! When we found out we were having a girl, I knew I wanted a modern chic room that was sweet and girly, but not "baby-ish". I scoured the internet (thank you, ETSY!) and pulled together what I feel is a beautiful nursery for my little girl! The room is calming and sweet, not too busy, and functional without being messy.

We just love it and hope that she'll look back one day and feel the love we put into each and every detail (:, Nurseries Design
