I was tired of my old room and decided to spruce it up with some cheap and easy changes. I "acquired" around 100 pallets from the surrounding home improvement stores. I then stripped, powerwashed, and sanded all of the useable pieces. I used the best, most solid pallets as a bed platform and then used a stagering pattern for the stripped pallet wood as a feature wall/headboard. Everything in the room is organic, reused, or some sort of renewable resource. The floor is stained concrete with a jute area rug.

I love cottage style, and I love a soothing master bedroom. But, I also love cheap decorating ideas and this is one of them! I purchased an old door for $20 at an antique store and converted it into a headboard! For more headboard ideas visit http://www.decorating-ideas-made-easy.com/headboard-ideas.html

This is a bedroom where I made upholstered wall panels (17 in total and made them to resemble a brick wall. The fabric used was a faux leather and the nails were antique brass. All of the panels are hung individually on the wall to create this unusual but very dramatic headboard. The benefits are it is comfortable to lean against, they don't move or shift around, they absord sound (from my noisy neighbours and they are also pleasing to the eye. My husband just loves the look and I am very pleased with my accomplishment. Your comments are appreciated!

With three small children, my husband and I definitely deserve a restful, beautiful room. I created this space to feel sophisticated and elegant without being TOO ornate. The elegance of the furniture is balanced with the simple beauty of the lamps and mirror. My husband has to live in this room, too, so this is a nice balance of feminine and masculine by using black, leather and nail-head trim. The walls are Valspar's "Lighthouse Shadows". The ceiling is "Cream in My Coffee". Since the ceiling is vaulted, we added the molding to "bring the ceiling down" and create a cozier space. Painting the ceiling the same color as the upper wall helped complete this feel.
The bedding was surprisingly purchased at Walmart about 2 years ago. I made the curtains, wall monogram and headboard with a little muscle from hubby. I removed the original "matchy matchy" mirror on the dresser and added this large solid wood one from Homegoods - only $50! Other accessories in the room are from Marshalls, Target, Homegoods, Ross, etc. I successfully convinced my husband to take down the ceiling fan and put up the chandelier instead...bought at Home Depot.
I finally LOVE our bedroom and the feeling it brings us.

HELP! My bedroom has 3 doors 2 windows and double folding closet doors!! That means very little wall space. I need inexpensive headboard ideas! I want to do something different with the TV but a new one isn't in the budget right now. I want to paint the room a light tan color I think. I have purchased new bedding so I included a pic of the new colors. Any ideas appreciated!!

This was my Labor Day project....A tall ,tufted headboard for my bed. The fabric, buttons, form, and batting were purchased from Wal-Mart. I am so happy that our Walmart put back the fabric department.

This is our master bedroom. I wanted to carry the theme of light and airy into our bedroom. I love the contrast of the silver-blue colors with the elegant dark wood tones.

Here is my master bedroom that I have recently completed. I removed a sleigh bed which was taking up way too much space and added a new wall mounted headboard. I made a lot of the items in the room as well such as; headboard, cushions, bedskirt, draperies. The new chair and mirrors are from Pier 1 and the new area rug from Homesense. It has taken me 6 months and a lot work to finish this room. I find the room a very warm and relaxing space to be in. The new headboard is great because we can sit and lean against it with comfort and the headboard no longer moves or squeaks. Thanks for viewing my space and I hope that it will bring you some inspiration for your room.
