  • The Nest (3rd Bedroom/Bath), Recently I went through a 3rd bedroom/bath addition at my home. My house was originally a two bedroom/2.5 bath home. Now it is 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. Each bedroom has its own bath and the powder room is downstairs. The addition was in the inaccessible attic space. A linen closet was removed to make way for the new room and bath. I am in the process of decorating the room and bath. The custom curtains are coming. Take a look... I call the room The Nest. I hope you enjoy., Bedrooms Design

  • Familly room with neo classical touch, Here is my familly room, after I have redone about everything in it - took me over 6 months to remodel/decorate my new house. We removed all the old wood paneling, I added a new fireplace mantel and sides (there were nothing there before), did the texture on the wall, and color, added some stencils. The vinyl floor was replaced with wooden floor, new chandelier..., Living Rooms Design

  • Old Bathroom Gets a More than Just Facelift, Our hallway bath was old, dark and dated. It had uneven floors, a claw foot tub and wood-everything. Wood paneling, wood floors, a custom wood was just too much wood. It seemed to have been renovated back in 2007 (hence the date on the drywall we ripped out) but it wasn't done up to code or very well. We replaced just about everything in this bathroom with antique bronze fixtures, all new plumbing, a new shower/tub combo, a nice backsplash, new flooring, paint...and the list goes on!, Bathrooms Design

  • My Railroad Themed Garden Project, I restored a real railroad crossing signal with working lights and bell a few months ago. I wanted to put it in my backyard, but I new it would look strange just standing by itself. I love comming up with creative ideas, so i decided to make railroad theamed garden project out of it. I first worked on making the tracks, which I found most of the materials in hardware stores. The tracks are made from metal fence posts, decking fasteners and cedar planks.Next, the walkways were made by using cedar planks mounted on 2x2s. and filled in between with colored pea gravel, which is held in by cedar edging. Then just finished it off by adding stone, multch, plants and flowers. I also restored a switch track light that lights up. Then I wired up both RR lights and bell, which work by remote.
I finally finished my project by adding a personalized sign, which I found on ebay.
I have gotten many people asking me when I am going to build a train to fit on the tracks or adding on a train station. LOL!!! I tell them maybe next year. If i do decide to add anything on i will post future pics.
Well it did'nt take but one day to add on to my project. I have put a 1930s restored parking meter, along with a RR sign and old wood planter, by the side of my garage. You wiil see this first before entering the RR garden (see new pics. I also added some more detailed pictures of the RR garden., Yards Design

  • My sanctuary, I began my yard makeover in 2005. I just bought my house and was somewhat new to gardening. I started with 2 beautiful rose bushes, 40 year old Chrysler Imperials. I now have approximately 80 rose bushes, trees and rose carpet. It was 8 yrs of all trial and error until I finally reached a garden plateau that I was very pleased with., Yards Design
