  • Spa like on a small budget, from old and plain for 1,600, Spa like on a small budget, from old and plain. My son and daughter in law recently bought a new home. They asked me to redo their bathroom. They wanted shades of brown and that is what they got. It was a good size bathroom but it had a lot of wasted space. I gutted the room and while doing so I found an open space beside the tub in which I added a wonderful built in storage space. The tub was taken out and replaced with a shower. The counter site was moved to the side wall and doubled in size. The cabinets have tilt outs and the silent close feature. The cabinet on the right has a laundry shoot to the laundry room below. The cabinets and granite counter top were a wonderful find for their budget. They could have easily spent most of their budget on just the cabinet and counter top. The counter top is St. Cecilia with a beautiful edge and under mount sink. Everything in the bathroom is new and it was all done for $ 1,600.00. I love shopping for bargains. It really pays to shop around when doing a remodel.

  • Loft with big open floor plan, My loft apartment has soaring 20 foot ceilings, large windows, and an open floor plan where the living, dining, and kitchen seamlessly flow together. The problem is that when you open the door, it looks good, but when you walk in, you realize it's very empty and uninspired. , Living Rooms Design

  • Almost Paradise View, We fulfilled a dream of ours when we purchased a lake house in 2008- a place for us to make memories with our two girls and the rest of our family and friends. We have done many projects in the house, but need help with the outdoor space. The deck and patio should be the best seats in the house, but with their awkward design, cracked cement, and overgrown landscaping, they leave a lot to be desired. We need help to make our deck and patio more functional and the focal point it should be for viewing and enjoying all the activities that take place on the lake- especially for the grandparents who need a comfortable place to enjoy watching their grandchildren and for Maddy, our daughter who is battling leukemia, who deserves a place to relax and leave all her worries behind!, Patios & Decks Design

  • Friendly Family Room, This room used to be a garage. The former owners turned it into a family room, and built the garage that is now behind the house in the middle of our backyard. I like the size of the room, but its long shape makes it a bit difficult to arrange furniture. We like to play Wii, and sometimes it gets a bit tight with everyone trying to move around in the small, awkward space. , Living Rooms Design

  • What Happened to Our Garage?, When clear and clutter free it's actually enough space to park a car and hopes of a laundry room and fitness area have just gone down the drain. Lack of organization and storage space, fear of purging and separation issues have let our space evolve into a sea of clutter. We just can't seem to get it back on track . . . somebody, anybody . . . HELP!, Garages Design
