My daughter-n-law and I wanted a whimsical type nursery but still wanted it to be masculine. We searched and searched for some type of inspiration to help us with a theme. Finally we came across a photo of a little girl kissing a frog prince and the theme was set. We know from the beginning that we wanted a black and white color combination and finally settle on green for our third color. From that point we let our imaginations flow. We added striped to the bottom part of the wall by taping off 12 in. sections and painting in alternating colors of black & white. The top border of the wall we created a connecting diamond shaped pattern using a diamond stencil I created out of cardboard. I used a small circle sponge to add metallic gold dots where each diamond meets. Using colors in Fresh Parsley, Black & White in a satin finish. I custom designed and handmade all the curtains, accent pillows, placemat and changing table cover.
The Chandelier was custom created by Whimsical Collections as a replica to the custom painting we had painted by hilariagalleries .
Other accessories bought at various stores throughout our process for creating this nursery.
This room was a true labor of Love. I enjoyed every minute difficult or easy in the process of designing this nursery, from the time I stitched my first stitch to the very last drop of paint.
I wanted my grandson to have a room worthy of a prince that he is. I created and did most of the work with the inspiration and ideas of my daughter-n-law to help along the way.

It is the first day of fall and although it is my favorite season I feel a certain melancholy knowing that our Outdoor living space is coming to a close. This is a two year WIP beginning with Astro turf and ending with sod. My husband is my landscape stylist as he literally combs and blows-out the lawn after a cut and is determined to emulate the outfield of Yankee Stadium. The walk-way behind the pool is temporary so ideas for plantings and a soft-scaped meandering path are welcome!

These are simply pictures I painted in my new apartment living room. The colors were inspired by the large picture on the left wall. I was watching HGTV when a handy tip was given about a new tape that did not allow colors to bleed. FROG TAPE!!! I simply framed the picture with one color and went wild. No pattern, just winged it. It took me about 5-7 days to do both walls, and when it was time to take off the tape....IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!

This is our fish pond and stream. It was all dug by hand and each rock was hand placed. It has 3 waterfalls with the last one flowing into the fish pond at the bottom. It's gone through 3 expansions to get to this point. This is how we are going to leave it. We really enjoy watching it change with the seasons. We love watching the birds enjoy it in the spring. The water lilies are beautiful in the summer.

My daughter's favorite place to be is outside on a sunny day but it gets a bit too warm in Texas to spend everyday at the park! That's why my sister gave her a park in her bedroom! She can sleep under the trees anytime & picnic at the hillside...she shares all her secrets with her frogs & bunny rabbit but her favorite roommates are definitely the caterpillars & lady bugs!

This mom wanted a sweet and serene gender neutral nursery for her first born. So, she painted the baby's room yellow - Behr Ultra in Moon Dance. The pine furniture was from Westwood Design, Cypress Point line in Honey Pine. The wall decals, from weeDECOR, are the whimsical tree with birds which were placed next to the crib and owls on a branch which sit over the changing table. She tells us her son loves looking at the decals when they are changing him and they love that the wall decals are made of eco-friendly fabric! The rug is the double border rectangular rug in Antique Linen from JC Penney's. The frog wall art and owl statue are from 2 separate art galleries in Santa Fe, NM where mom and dad vacationed before the little one was born.

This mural includes children's songs, fables, nursery rhymes, and tons of tiny critters and animals to keep a baby entertained. I created this nursery for my first born son Reed. I was 8 months pregnant when I began painting it. This was my favorite project because it was the first time I got to create a project for my own child.

You can see from my other upload, I painted my pool bath which is also my guest bath Behr Gem Turquoise last year. This year I got a new black granite countertop, sink and faucet and then decided to stripe the walls. I divided the space by fives and painted the second and fourth stripes silver. Then put a pearlescent glaze over the whole thing.
Here in Central Florida, it gets downright steamy. We have a few blooms that don't mind it one lil' bit. Here are some lovelies from the July garden. daisy

Bathroom in hallway. We decorated it all frog for our son, but am wondering if I should try to make it a more grown up looking bathroom since it is the one guests use.

I created this nursery for my daughter, Madelynn. The theme started with the frog painting, a gift to my mother from her brother when I was a baby. The painting hung in my room my whole childhood and now Maddie can enjoy it too.
I wanted something cute but not overly themey. I hope you like it!
