It is the first day of fall and although it is my favorite season I feel a certain melancholy knowing that our Outdoor living space is coming to a close. This is a two year WIP beginning with Astro turf and ending with sod. My husband is my landscape stylist as he literally combs and blows-out the lawn after a cut and is determined to emulate the outfield of Yankee Stadium. The walk-way behind the pool is temporary so ideas for plantings and a soft-scaped meandering path are welcome!

My daughter-n-law and I wanted a whimsical type nursery but still wanted it to be masculine. We searched and searched for some type of inspiration to help us with a theme. Finally we came across a photo of a little girl kissing a frog prince and the theme was set. We know from the beginning that we wanted a black and white color combination and finally settle on green for our third color. From that point we let our imaginations flow. We added striped to the bottom part of the wall by taping off 12 in. sections and painting in alternating colors of black & white. The top border of the wall we created a connecting diamond shaped pattern using a diamond stencil I created out of cardboard. I used a small circle sponge to add metallic gold dots where each diamond meets. Using colors in Fresh Parsley, Black & White in a satin finish. I custom designed and handmade all the curtains, accent pillows, placemat and changing table cover.
The Chandelier was custom created by Whimsical Collections as a replica to the custom painting we had painted by hilariagalleries .
Other accessories bought at various stores throughout our process for creating this nursery.
This room was a true labor of Love. I enjoyed every minute difficult or easy in the process of designing this nursery, from the time I stitched my first stitch to the very last drop of paint.
I wanted my grandson to have a room worthy of a prince that he is. I created and did most of the work with the inspiration and ideas of my daughter-n-law to help along the way.

This mural includes children's songs, fables, nursery rhymes, and tons of tiny critters and animals to keep a baby entertained. I created this nursery for my first born son Reed. I was 8 months pregnant when I began painting it. This was my favorite project because it was the first time I got to create a project for my own child.

This is my son's nursery. I wanted to do a sophisticated frog theme .....along the lines of Jeremy Fisher but without going over the top. This room is very small 8x10.

This is a tiny budget makeover for our granddaughter room she lives with us and she is 6years old and loves pink princesses and dressing up. Most of the things in the room were bought at garage sales second hand stores or were gifts from friends whose children out grew them. We are on a strict budget I spent about $350.00 on this room. We plan do redo the floor our self’s this summer. I’m hoping to get some ideas on how to paint the fish tank stand.

my new baby and her 4 year old step sister share a room - wanted it to be girly but not TOO pink - love the themes but not too over the top - and finally I wanted it to be comfortable and not too fussy - so the girls can play dress up and not worry about messing anything up.

This is our special garden created just for our little girl. The inspiration was my late mother's love for butterflies and flowers. It has fun little critters to keep us company during those late nights

I just finished this fun bathroom for a friend of mine who has a boy and a girl. We did some great vessel sinks/vanities beadboard and frog towels - one set with pink border and one with blue. The green was a great neutral color for both kids.

This is my computer room / sewing room / storage. I redecorated the walls to add some fun hangings as well as vintage embroidery items that were all framed. The embroidery hangings includes "Kiss Kiss and still no prince" which I paired with my ceramic frogs. And another embroidery hanging says "Butterfly mornings and wildflower afternoons". I would like to eventually change out the table and the desk for a more substantial black desk and table.
