This is our master bedroom that we just finished a few weeks ago. We ripped out the carpet and painted. We did this knowing that we were getting all new bedroom furniture matress bedding and decor. The bedding was purchased about a year ago knowing that we would be getting a king size bed. The bed takes up alot of the room but after sharing a queen bed for 12 yrs we had to upgrade to a king for the sanity of both of us!

I just had my kitchen renovated. I got new cabinets, hardwood floors refinished, plumbing moved to the island for sink and dishwasher. I did all the tile work.

When ever we entertain, it is all done in our kitchen. We usually have 30 to 40 people at a time and we need to utilize every spare inch of the kitchen. We would like to do a total remodel of the kitchen for a budget of $40,000. to $50,000. and this must include everything.

We just finished our daylight basement. It has almost 1800 square feet of finished space. We added a bathroom, home theater/bedroom, billiards room, dance floor, man cave (office and shop. We still need to add artwork.

The space is a compromise between my husband and I. I have a totally modern taste where his is more contemporary. We started with the cabinets first knowing we loved the darker colors. I then decided on paint and went through many of backsplash samples trying to persuade my husband. He was a no go on glass tile, which was what i wanted. He loved the natural stone look so i found the travertine brick layed 1x2's. It was perfect. We then decided we liked the absolute black granite with the look of the travertine. I didn't want it to look like a cave so I decided the stainless steel tile would brighten it up. We ran a band of it along with the travertine. My floors are also a light grayish white, so I felt it was ok to use the dark cabinetry and black countertops. I also wanted to use a raised glass bar instead of a solid granite to keep the visual space open since the dining room is a bit on the small side. Overall we are both very happy with the way it turned out. Oh and we did all of the labor. Staining the cabinets, tiling the backsplash, hanging the pendants, etc... The total cost for the kitchen came to $11,000.

My husband and I moved into our house in 2008, and one of the things we wanted to do was get the basement finished so we can set up our exercise equipement. I told him that we didn't need to finish the whole basement to have a cool home gym. I had this idea in my head that I thought would look really cool and just rolled with it...literally. It took me four months, and it was well worth it. It just goes to show you that with a little (a lot of hard work really does pay off. I'll explain in detail with the pictures what I used to accomplish this project.

Since we do not know what we are having, I wanted a fun and gender neutral theme. Living in Kentucky, a farm theme seemed to fit. I wanted a lot of different colors and textures and they eye to wander around the room. Nursery design by Linda Betz, a family friend.

I loved looking at my yard. But I hated looking at the back of my house. It looked like a big gray blank slate. So I painted a whimsical garden across the back of my home. Now I love sitting in my yard- I see beauty no matter where I look.
