  • Family Room, we repainted this room and it makes a huge difference, it looked like someone smudged poo on the walls before, supposedly an expensive paint job by the previous owners., Living Rooms Design

  • Basement Family Room, This space has never been remodeled. It needs to be updated but I'm not sure what to do. This room has 4 windows that overlook a porch which overlooks a lake. The fireplace is chicago brick with a wood mantel. We don't use the space very efficiently. The TV is in a spot where wood should be stacked for the fireplace. The room is sunken., Living Rooms Design

  • Family Room Finally Completed, This is a very large room, it is home to our 3 dogs and 5 daughters. Before, it was very dark and 70's...ish. There was dark paneling, dark bookcases and lots of formica. We have lived with this for 5 years. Enough is Enough! After removing the carpet/padding, cabinet doors, shelving, washing, sanding, priming, sanding, painting, sanding, and more is finally COMPLETED! Of course there is still that "fine" tuning that every room needs.

But, for the most part I'm happy. I hope you feel the same way, but I always welcome some new ideas...... , Living Rooms Design

  • Beautifully Ugly, We are young professionals, recent college graduates...all of our furniture is either handed down...or repurposed. We are renting so no paint. I try to work with what I have, once we take that step and buy a house...I hope to make our space a place for our dreams. For now, we will work hard to make a futon look the best that it can...and we'll ignore those verticle blinds. For the sake of my self-esteem, please take that into consideration while you're about to select the single star=}, Living Rooms Design

This is a large space and I know it could be a lot better than it is. Any ideas?? This is actually my sister's home but I told her I would enter it into my space as she does not have a computer. She is a widow on limited income and needs help or ideas please., Kitchens Design

  • traditional family room, Our family room is comfortable and well-used. Although we have completely redone just about everything in the house when we moved in I would still like to do something to update the fireplace (I have given the mantle a faux finish as a "quick-fix" until I decide what to do!) and the handrail on the stairs (which I have removed - it's just open right now!). Looking for ideas!!?!, Living Rooms Design

  • Ince Family Room, This is our family room. We just moved in to our new home last year. The space is nice and cozy but we feel that it is missing color. I like earthy tones but don't know what would look right in here especially with the high ceilings., Living Rooms Design

  • Staged Family Room, My client's carriage house is on a beautiful large country estate but the interior railroad layout made it difficult to define rooms. He wanted to capture the beauty of the countryside with a modern Pottery Barn feel.We did not select the wall colors. This was a given and we had to work around it. As it was a staging job the goal is to highlight the rooms best features in the most simplistic way possible. We chose not to cover the windows as this is a selling point of the home., Living Rooms Design

  • Update of Great Room...Still in progress, I have moved furniture and TV as suggested by you which opened up big space on my longest wall so I moved in another smaller sofa I had. Is this working so far? I know I need window treatments and to paint window and door trim. Can't afford armoire to hide TV yet. FP problem temporarily solved by holiday decor., Living Rooms Design
