  • repost~ got creative with those lights, ok... I thought of things I could do with those crappy red lights in my kitchen and I thought of painting them a light green and hot glueing mums all aroung the bottom edges to difuse the brightness of the bulbs. But it didn't work!! I can still see the bare bulbs! Help! Any ideas??? Maybe glue some leaves around the bottom on the inside ( to also cover the bare looking stems I didn't want to see) I just don't know what to do now. Maybe just start all over and BUY a shade?? NAW!! I'd rather try to salvage them cuz they DO look kinda cute. I just didn't think it out all the way. Any ideas are welcome!! Thanx ;), Kitchens Design

  • English Country Cottage Christmas Decorations in Virginia, Our newly built English style cottage in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains reflects our love of the architecture of my husband's homeland. I designed the home around a 16th century Welsh timberframe we imported from the UK, and fully outfitted the house with British architectural antiques, including 17th century oak panelling and a Victorian staircase. Here, we've decorated for the holidays in traditional English style. Hope you enjoy!, Holidays Design

  • Creating a cottage garden and a small gentleman's farm in the city., There was very little in the way of established gardens when we purchased our little cottage bungalow. We wanted to create a working organic raised bed garden and soften the edges with year round flower beds. We also wanted to be able to graze throughout the yard on fruits, herbs, and berries. We still have a long way to go, but we've at least started to establish a country cottage feeling to our little bungalow in the city., Gardens Design

  • Master Bed English Tudor Cottage, We measured this room before we bought the house to make sure our bed would fit. As it was it took us 2 months to figure out how to get it in the house from the garage! (The headboard wouldn't disassemble). I call it my "Ebeneezer Scrooge" bed. Once again CONSTRUCTIVE comments/criticism appreciated but if you don't like vintage (OLD) please scroll on by., Bedrooms Design

  • 1939 English Tudor Cottage, I'm trying to make my cottage look like a step back in time to 1939 inside and out. (Apparently my living room is horrible). I want to remove the outdoor carpet on the front porch but I know there will be awful glue underneath. I also plan to replace the house numbers with black wrought iron castle style numbering. Our neighbor asked me if we actually get milk delivered!, Home Exterior Design

  • Our Sanctuary, Our secret garden provides plenty of relaxation and is more a sanctuary from work and the outside world. A deck runs the length of the kitchen and also serves as a work zone for potting and smaller projects as well as an entertainment area for friends and family. We have been working on it for our second year now and the vision is beginning to flesh out. Theres still plenty to keep us busy for some time with brick paths and patio to get in and my dream of a small green house-conservatory planned for 2011 for phase 2 and after that phase 3 will be a brick raised formal herb garden-potage in a simple square & X centered in the short left leg of the "L" of the back yard just opposite the green house with its smaller path that will "T" into the left side of the main brick path. At some point, potted evergreen topiaries will flank the path at key intervals and where the first "T" to the brick patio converges, the path will widen to a larger brick medallion about 6 feet across centered with a 36 inch stone pedestal capped by an wrought iron armillary., Gardens Design

  • English Cottage Bedroom-My Big Brass Bed, This big Victorian Brass bed is English from about the 1880’s. About 8’ tall it has side rods for curtains. Currently it is cottage style. The room it is in has lots of windows. For the holidays I use red/white toile. The walls are now eggshell. At the time I was getting company hence the tray & cookies. • Spring has Sprung!, Our master bedroom is small compared to some, but cozy I think. We painted the walls a spring green that makes it feel warm and inviting all year round. I found this duvet on sale at Target and I think it goes perfect with the paint. I'm working on replacing the valances and lamp shades. , Bedrooms Design

  • English Cottage Garden in Utah!, When I fulfilled a lifetime dream of traveling to England, I was enchanted by their cottage gardens. They were so lovely and informal - with herbs and vegetable all mixed in together. Another clever idea was they were frequently located in the front entry, instead of grass! I now have a English Cottage Garden as I walk up to my front door. Who would have guessed I could bring a little of England home with me?., Gardens Design
