  • Master Bathroom with a View, We recently (finally) renovated / remodeled our master bathroom that had been sitting gutted since the day we bought our house - over 3 1/2 years ago. We finally were able to borrow the lump sum needed to do this massive makeover. The issue with the original bathroom - other than the fact that it was super dated (green wallpaper) and yucky, was that the main drain was cracked and water was leaking to the floor below - into the walls and down to the floor. This is a second story bathroom and below it is the kitchen and dining room. Sadly the previous tenant was using the bathroom even with the broken drain pipes which had caused mold in the walls which we had to get professionally cleaned! Anyway, all that's in the past now and we have a fabulous modern (but comfortable) master bathroom that feels like an expensive hotel / spa and it even has a view of the bay and golden gate bridge!

feel free to follow our blog for the rest of our adventures in home makeover here - http://fixerwithaview.wordpress.com - we even have a blog section about how we almost got onto HGTV's curb appeal - shot the reveal and everything before our project was cancelled., Bathrooms Design

  • What do you do with a double "master" bedroom?, We bought this house 2 years ago and little by little we have been renovating the home. This is our master bedroom separated by a wall with a door. So there is our bedroom on one side and a sitting room on the other side where my hubby plays his video games. We would like to take down this wall to make one room. But since this is an addition, we are not sure if it is load bearing or not., Bedrooms Design

  • My 90's bathroom today, This is our full bath in our home. We fully gutted and remodeled it in 1995. It was a showpiece then, now not so much. Oak cabinets have lost their coolness, the tiles(2x2) on the floor and shower(8x8) all white don't seem right, wainscot I am unsure about. Full double mirrors, too. Needs some freshening up but to what I don't know. , Bathrooms Design

  • 1905 Edwardian Master Bath, Our second bathroom re-do using existing second hand and overstock supplies and a lot of DIY! This home was built in 1904 without bathrooms. Moved the plumbing around a bit and made this room into a 'period' bath for a family of four from a single-sink no-shower vinyl disaster! Total project was around $5K. All rooms will be updated but period-inspired due to the historical district trends/requirements of this neighborhood., Bathrooms Design

  • Speechless Sunroom - Needs a lot of work, Our sunroom is a space that we have not had time or money to work on yet. We have a great view of the Rocky Mountains and would like to open this sunroom up to our main front room, replace all of the windows, and add double doors. We would also love to expand the sunroom by 10 more additional feet to make it into a game room with a pool table and other games. However, we do not have the money to do this kind of expansion, so if you have any suggestions for the current size that would be great., Patios & Decks Design

  • Chopped up 60's bathroom, Our 60's bathroom has double sinks and a funky vanity in a mirrored room with blond cabinets and wall to wall carpeting. The toilet is behind a pocket door and you must go thru that tiny room to get into the shower. The steam shower has a bench and a glass tile wall but you have to step down into the space. Running parallel to this space is a walk-in closet and a large storage room with a sunken broken jacuzzi tub near sliding glass windows. We would love to use that space to expand the bathroom and make the layout more functional and contemporary, Bathrooms Design
