  • Master Bathroom with a View, We recently (finally) renovated / remodeled our master bathroom that had been sitting gutted since the day we bought our house - over 3 1/2 years ago. We finally were able to borrow the lump sum needed to do this massive makeover. The issue with the original bathroom - other than the fact that it was super dated (green wallpaper) and yucky, was that the main drain was cracked and water was leaking to the floor below - into the walls and down to the floor. This is a second story bathroom and below it is the kitchen and dining room. Sadly the previous tenant was using the bathroom even with the broken drain pipes which had caused mold in the walls which we had to get professionally cleaned! Anyway, all that's in the past now and we have a fabulous modern (but comfortable) master bathroom that feels like an expensive hotel / spa and it even has a view of the bay and golden gate bridge!

feel free to follow our blog for the rest of our adventures in home makeover here - http://fixerwithaview.wordpress.com - we even have a blog section about how we almost got onto HGTV's curb appeal - shot the reveal and everything before our project was cancelled., Bathrooms Design

  • 1905 Edwardian Master Bath, Our second bathroom re-do using existing second hand and overstock supplies and a lot of DIY! This home was built in 1904 without bathrooms. Moved the plumbing around a bit and made this room into a 'period' bath for a family of four from a single-sink no-shower vinyl disaster! Total project was around $5K. All rooms will be updated but period-inspired due to the historical district trends/requirements of this neighborhood., Bathrooms Design

  • small space--BIG Style!, My master bath is a little on the small side, but because (like most of my redo's) I really couldn't add onto the house I had to make do with what I had. I will admit there were a few "lessons learned" on this job-as far as time and cost are concerned, but I am extremely happy with the use of space. It is just as comfortable, and just as luxurious as most hotels which was my primary goal with this project., Bathrooms Design

  • Main Bath gets a renovation on a budget and tight on space..., The first time we "remodeled" this bathroom, we really just covered up the ugly things we didn't like.... but this time around, we ripped it all out and started from scratch. It feelt so good! Total for labor and materials was around $7K (not counting the contractor who charged us $2K to start and then walked off the job... :( but, that is a Judge Judy kind of story, not a rate my space)., Bathrooms Design

  • Modern orange and blue , A blue and orange bathroom move in. Shelves were made, a little paint splashed on the walls, and my towels put up on the rack. More to come for this space when we re-haul it as our Master bathroom but for now it's a cosmetic fix. , Bathrooms Design

  • My 90's bathroom today, This is our full bath in our home. We fully gutted and remodeled it in 1995. It was a showpiece then, now not so much. Oak cabinets have lost their coolness, the tiles(2x2) on the floor and shower(8x8) all white don't seem right, wainscot I am unsure about. Full double mirrors, too. Needs some freshening up but to what I don't know. , Bathrooms Design

  • Please help my kitchen!, This is our kitchen. As you can see, it's dark, cluttered, and completely out of date. The only thing we've been able to do since we moved in four years ago is paint the walls - you should have seen the old wallpaper! It looked like Thanksgiving all year round!, Kitchens Design
