  • My kitchen , It all started with moving the sink and the cabinets were white and discolored. We wanted a much warmer look and more detail. We the kids and dogs a nutrual tile floor was needed for wear and tear. The kids were young and the dogs would just distroy a wood floor. Sence I have progressed into more kitchens and building. It kinda came natural... check out my website! , Kitchens Design

  • Relaxing, casual kitchen, This is our kitchen. It overlooks our sunken family room. I wish several things were different with our space but we live with what we have. I think I have made good use of the space. I don't like clutter and keep my counters free of it. I do like our counters and the back splash. I also love our kitchen table and leather chairs. I put glass over the wood the protect it. I have three little ones and it makes clean up much easier. I know it isn't very pretty to look at. I also have two boosters for my twins at the table. I have matching chairs that they will graduate to someday. Our curtains are a new addition and add some color and fun. They coordinate well with our drapery in the family room. Enjoy looking. Thanks!, Kitchens Design

  • Formal, warm and inviting living room, This is the room that would typically be called the formal living room. We are casual and have young children. I think the space is well suited to our lifestyle. It is a perfect space for conversation or to curl up and read a book. After dinner parties we generally circulate into the space for after dinner drinks and dessert. I still need to change out the previous drapery. It is not my style. It does match to some degree so it has been a little farther down on my to do list. I'll get them done, hopefully this year. Enjoy and thanks for looking!, Living Rooms Design

  • My shoestring budget kitchen re-do (less than $2,000), I am proud to show off my new and improved kitchen finally! We knocked out a huge pantry and expanded the kitchen to add more counterspace and cabinets. The problem was we could not find a match to our old 1980's cabinets so we started looking in the paper for used cabinets in hopes of finding the style. After almost a year we finally bought basic cabinets at Lowes and since we could not duplicate(and did not want the dark finish) I decided to faux paint them woodgrain to match our floors. The grey is Valspar tinted primer with antiquing gel applied and the woodgrain is also by Valspar with my application of gel and paint to look like wood. With our son's help this project cost less than $2,000.
Luckily, even though I would like a new countertop my old counters were still available to match. The tile backsplash was only $165 to do! The pulls are twig and leaves from Lowes. I wanted a woodsey kind of look (even though I kept all my tins) so I handpainted branches with birds and squirrels along the top of the tile. We bought new lighting with leaves for our three lights and the middle light is an old window with the fixture secured underneath. The new cabinets have a faux arch to fool your eye into thinking they match the old ones...my husband routed out the drawer fronts to match the old ones...we think the result is pretty good...what do you think??, Kitchens Design

  • Infinity Kitchen, This kitchen breaks the typical mold by gently curving around the room. A moveable island defines the space in the open concept house. Originally the house had this galley style kitchen, with a partially melted microwave and a kitchen drain that simply emptied onto the ground below. To open up the space and create a more functional work space, I created an L-shaped layout. The kitchen isn't very large, so in addition to creating a beautiful space, maximizing storage was crucial., Kitchens Design

  • Game Room, We're starting to put this game room together and need your help! The tile around the fire place is an awful orange and doesn't fit with anything else in our home. We're thinking of staining it as a cost effective approach to knocking the tile out entirely. We're not sure about colour for the stain or the walls... all walls are white and desperately need personality. The mantle is natural wood and doesn't match our dark wood floors. Any thoughts on colour for the fireplace tile, walls and ceiling, and mantle? , Media Rooms Design
