  • Yummy Dining Room, Though the dining room is small it packs some big punch! I painted the room chocolate truffle and the molding vanilla ice cream. The crystal chandelier I inherited. (I had it rewired.) I refurbished the chandelier with a lot of TLC and elbow grease. I made the runner. The "buffet" is actually a bookshelf on it's side with basket drawers. I added the tassels. My everyday plates, bowls, and coffee cups are within easy reach. The framed letter is one that was found when my father was in WWII written to my aunts. A definite treasure!, Dining Rooms Design

  • Dining Room Reno- From 80's to Romantic, This space was amazing at the beginning. It had a modern feel with the two long windows at the end and the right windows that led to a sunken deck. The floors were perfect when we moved in and didn't need touching. We imagined a reno that wouldn't cost over two hundred bucks, and we pulled it off with what we had already!!! The money actually went to the paint and a couple of items from local decorating stores. The paint is Benjamin Moore Dorset Gold, and it took 2 gallons. I got a big blond conference table from a friend, and picked up the matching chairs from Middle bury Consignment for 125.00. We did change out the window ( oops forgot that price!) because the room was too dark, and I washed the chandelier, which took a whopping 5 hours. Each piece had to be taken off and cleaned ( yeah, it is glass). The rest of the furniture we inherited and just found at various tag sales. We're not done, as we want to add a gas fireplace that poked through to the kitchen.....but that's another day! I hope you like the color!, Dining Rooms Design

  • I need flooring advice, please!, Finally getting to do a little remodeling in the house we moved into. Need flooring advice for dining room. I like dark hardwood but it might clash with the floor in the living room.Thought about tile but I worry about my 2 young kids hurting theirselves or falling and chipping a tooth. Should I go with a linoleum? Maybe the kind that looks like tile or not? I am open to about anything. Any advice would be really helpful., Dining Rooms Design

  • Our 1st Dining Room, This dining room was the first project we tackled after moving in to our new house. At first we didn't know quite what to do with the room. It was prett much separated from the rest of the house accessable only through the front hall. A knocked out wall and a new archway soon brought it through to the kitchen -- and the rest followed., Dining Rooms Design

  • Our New Dining Room, This room is 11X19. Part of it had been an enclosed back porch and was opened up by a previous owner. Their techniques were just a little bit lacking and we had to scrape parts of the walls down past the tape and mud and redo it. We painted and added chair rail., Dining Rooms Design

  • Our formal dining room with a victorian appeal , This is our formal dining room. We wanted a victorian look but not to heavy just some elegance without looking too overdone. A couple of special touches is the antique Hepplewhite sideboard and the "Grapes" oil painting on the wall that my mother did for me for this room. Thanks for looking. I decorated it and painted it in a soft light mocha color., Dining Rooms Design

  • Dinner anyone?, Our dining room is the central room of the house. Positioned in between the living room and kitchen it is definitely a room of importance.
