When we moved into this house 4 months ago, the basement was.. I don't know what you would call it...unfinished, partially finished, semi finished I have no idea. What we have here is a basement that is framed out for I think an apartment. There are no windows (they took those out! but they installed an outside entrance with a 6ft sliding glass door. That is the only natural light source. My concern is the way the framed it out. Once the walls go up the bathroom is smack dab in the middle of the room and blocks the light from the doors leading to the outside entrance. There is plumbing in there for the bathroom, and the basement does have highhats. It is a dark creepy storage room. Totally useless entertaining space. Now it is a partial basement but still has good bones and sufficient room. So right now it is a skeleton with no skin or insides. It really needs tlc and we have no idea how to get this basement into shape or where we even begin! When Halloween comes around this year maybe we can plan a haunted house down there!

This is a second kitchen in our basement that has not been touched (obviously since the house has been built in 1950! It needs some major help! Unfortunately we have to walk thru it on a daily basis to do our laundry.
Update: Gutted the old, ugly 50's Kitchen and made it into a Modern yet Rustic feel Bar Area.

This is the only full bathroom in our house, located on the first floor. We hate it. It's colorless and lifeless - but it functions. I'm not sure when almond colored toilet, tub/shower, sink placed in an all white bathroom was ever in style. And don't get me started on the mix and match brass and/ or chrome fixtures. I believe the tile grout was white at one time.... oi voy!

The house was very dirty and in bad shape when I started. This bathroom had old wallpaper on the walls - now stripped, retextured, and painted; the cabinets were a dirty, grimy oak - now repainted; the mirror was chipped and broken on the edges - it's the same mirror. I just framed it. A new light fixture, some new towel bars, and some paint and it's now a sparkly new bathroom. I did it all for around $200.

The To Be the entry way/mud room in to house from driveway extending into the To Be master suite and laundry room. The entire downstairs floor is covered in that old school tile floor .It is dirty no matter how often I scrub it and we have to run a dehumidifier year round. The master suite is a blank slate- but the 1980's small bathroom needs help -no tub or shower and is too small. The downstair spaces are unfinished because we have NO idea how or what to do-WE NEED HELP!

This bathroom is absolutely horrible. It used to be nice until it was ripped apart and someone tried to fix it themself and made mistakes. The floor was put down as one piece and the tile that used to be there was taken out. The walls were powder blue tiles and were all ripped down and replaced with a horrible rigged wallpaper and then painted brown. The shower walls were put in over the top of some of the remaining blue tiles. The tub is so old that it is impossible to clean no matter what you use or try to do. The toliet has been lifted up and put back down numerous times because of leaks and other things. The door is so old that one little childs toy to it and it will go right through it. This bathroom is HORRIBLE and unlivable and needs a drastic makeover!

My kitchen is very outdated and worn out. The tile grout on the counters is cracked, and so dirty and dingy thatâÂÂs uncleanable. The floor tiles are ugly and the cabinets are covered with cheap laminate, some of which are coming loose. The walls are painted in a garish yellow. I desperately need help in creating an updated kitchen in which I can enjoy cooking my meals. Please help! Thanks.

This is a kitchen from the 1950's. The cabinets are original, old, and dirty. The countertops are tile but are not smooth and are difficult to clean. The floor was redone by other owners but is stick on laminate. It is old, ugly and needs redone.

This is my dining room and little sitting area. I am in the process of finding a table runner long enough for the table a big mirror for the wall that the table is on and a different table between the two chairs. Any other suggestions? I want something to make the room "pop".

This basement room was boring and filthy! I did all the work myself incl. wall & decorative painting & fabric work. I filled the alcove with cabinets left from my kitchen redo topped them with marble creating a media ctr. I also updated an old brass wall unit then turned a twin bed into a daybed. Total budget - $750!
