  • Vaulted-living ceiling room needs warmth; please help with paint colors, We just moved into this house two weeks ago, and it's in desperate need of some color. As you can see from the rug and furniture, we've decided on a blues & browns color scheme, but I'm not sure what color to paint the walls. I'm considering a moderately light gray color with blue undertones, but I think my husband's concerned it will be too dark. However, I'm afraid a neutral (like a caramel color) will blend together too much with the furniture, mantle, wood window trim, and oak floors. Please help!, Living Rooms Design

  • Decorative Plate Collection, I found a collection of plates that imitated a Herend pattern I love. When it came time to purchase new upholstered furniture I used the plates as my color guide. While the dominate color in the plates is green there is also a pale lavender. I found a matching shade in a silk duponi which I used for pillows and used a green satin ribbon to form the criss-cross pattern on them. , Living Rooms Design

  • Holiday Inspired Guest Room, I created a guest room for my brother who is coming to visit for Christmas. I wanted the room to feel festive and cozy. I purchased a red comforter set and some pillows. I also brought in a large scale mirror and placed it behind the bed which acts like a headboard. I added some lit garland and hung a holiday wreath from the middle of the mirror. I think the room feels warm and cozy. I hope you like it and I hope my brother enjoys his visit and is comfortable in our new guest room. =) Happy Holidays! , Holidays Design

  • Positively Pretty!, This is a very sophisticated bedroom to a teenage girl. The goal was to make it as "pretty" as I could for her using light neutrals infused with lavender and pink. Metallic touches make the room shimmer! And once she leaves the house the parents have a great guest suite., Bedrooms Design

  • Our Serene Retreat Relocated, We loved the color palette we used for our BR in our old home so we chose to keep it when we purchased our new home. The room is much larger and the layout is different so we did not completely replicate it. We loved all the textures we used before so we kept those and added a little more. The gray blue color is so peaceful and the dark woods pop against it. I feel in love with this rug and I think it is a perfect match. As you will see we had a blank canvas to begin with. The only things I want to change are side tables, the floors (replace carpet would a wood laminate) and the ceiling fan with something more contemporary. , Bedrooms Design
