  • HARVEST ENTRY, Since moving from Florida to Arizona, one thing is for sure: I've enjoyed decorating our entryway for Spring, Fall and Holiday. To see Spring, please view Spring on the Stoop - Crisp, clean and filled with pink & purple flowers. For Fall, it's quite the opposite: remembering our NJ home stoop, I made swept piles in the corners of each step using a bag of wood bark chips from Home Depot - mixed with a few faux leaves PLUS pinecones I collected here in AZ. I used another bag of bark chips around the base of my urns & lanterns at the door -- and since the weather cools off here for Fall, I was able to use real pumpkins too. The branches in the urns add height to frame the doorway -- they are to me a keepsake from Florida -- I found them back in 2010 and still use them seasonally today. For Fall, I hot glue leaves, for winter: leaves are removed and sparkle snowflakes are added. In Spring, I wrap the branches with pink blossoms. This decorated entry makes a perfect spot for a family photo, a couples Christmas card, or even just a friendly seasonal pic to have has a keepsake..., Home Exterior Design

  • Living Room/Dining Room, Our living room and dining room are in one big room divided by basically the shape of the house. I guess I would describe my taste as aged rustic vintage but not retro vintage. We just moved in and have been concentrating more on our boys' rooms first. But I do really like my living room so far. Hope you do too!, Living Rooms Design

  • Baby Maxim's Room, I did this nursery for my second son Maxim (ariving any day now). I knew I wanted a more modern room but with timeless details as well. I've been looking at different rooms for the past 9 months and picked out my favorate touches from a few of MY favorites. The room was done on a budget so a lot of the things I made myself. Hope you like it!, Nurseries Design

  • Spring Stoop, While living in Florida, I learned about container gardening. It was a great solution to add color to our house front or patio, without having to dig into the not so soft ground [mostly coral rock]. Over the years in Florida, I had grown and nurtured several plants, but because of state laws, I was unable to take any of the plants with me when we moved to Arizona. Although I gave away most of my plants to friends and family, I did keep several of the containers. Refreshing the containers with a quick cleaning & a fresh coat of paint helped spare the expense of having to start totally all over again. All I needed to do was invest in a few flowering plants to give our now stacked stone stoop a shot of color for Spring.

If you're renting, like we are, this is a great little Spring Spruce-up for outside, to welcome family home with color, as well as say "Happy Spring!" to your neighborhood. • SEASONAL ReSTYLE: FL, It's no secret: I LOVE to change my decor for the seasons - from pillows to panels and a little shift to shopping thrift -- here are various versions from some of the many seasonal changes I made to our Florida townhome - mainly the living room and entry. I'd have to say, most of the changes were possible because of the neutral foundation: a white sofa that I've had sine 1998. While living in Arizona now, I probably do a little less seasonal shifting - partly because we do experience some seasonal changes [for as hot as it is in Summer, it is cold in Winter plus a drive north and we can see leaves changing or even snow!] Since our move, I've also donated some of the pillows & panels for others to enjoy a quick restyle and a lot of bedding & bath textiles [not shown here] I sent to New Jersey to help after SuperStorm Sandy in 2012., Living Rooms Design

  • SEASONAL ReSTYLES: AZ , As I mentioned in the Seasonal ReStyles for FL post, it's no secret: I LOVE to change my decor for the seasons - from pillows to panels and a little shift to shopping thrift -- here are various versions from some of the seasonal changes I've made while living here in our rented home in Arizona - again, mainly in the living room. Since I don't have as many large blank walls as I had in our FL townhome - because of all the windows, I've used the wall behind our sofa as a gallery wall focal point. Since the windows are set higher and requiring panels longer than 95", I washed and hung - while still damp to make a pinch pleat - 8 drop cloths as panels for my now 5 windows in the living area. Since one set of windows are so close, with only the buffet between them, I opted to do single panels set off to the side. These I occasionally do switch out for panel I may find - usually from Ikea or even tablecloths. When you're renting, there's no need for expensive custom window treatments: invest in something else like light fixtures or an area rug. Through the pictures, you can see how even in a rental home, ones style can evolve and change over time - on a small budget and without the major expense of a major remodel. The foundation for the easy changes come from a strong neutral base: grey walls + white sofa + wood floors. , Living Rooms Design

  • Downstairs shower room, We started out with fixing the shower drain...long story short...we gutted the 3rd bathroom in our house. We replaced the old corner shower unit with a 31/2' X 5' full ceramic walk-in shower and did extensive tile work on the walls and floor. We still have to install some decorative glass block for the shower but it's functional and we're just using a curtain for now., Bathrooms Design
