  • Our "Live In" Living Room, We wanted our living room to be warm and inviting comfortable for watching TV and stylish for entertaining friends. We updated the fireplace (see the before fireplace picture) and replaced the old stained woodwork with a nicer painted trim. We painted the walls (and ceiling) a warm gold. I made the drapes and went shopping for furniture and accessories. Suggestions welcome., Living Rooms Design

  • Tropical Home Office/Den with Art Deco Touches, I work at home and spend most of my time in my office. This is a new room built onto a 1940s cottage. The builder matched the details to the older part--similar molding, coved ceilings, wood floors--so it would blend in well., Home Offices Design

  • Need to Re-Paint!, This is the Master-Bath off of our Master bedroom suite with no natural light. I had it painted pink wanting it to look romantic and femenine but it isn't working. I thought the pink was going to be a softer peachy shade but it doesn't go with the tile. What color & shade would look good? , Bathrooms Design

  • Words and more Words!, Our wonderful home of 29 years recently went through a remodeling phase. I was surprised when it was not the new stained floors french doors etc. that were getting the attention but one wall! I did not want to just hang another picture so I shopped in our local craft store for rub-on words that would describe my family. I simply applied the words in a free-form manner and applied a matte finish for durability. This wall just makes me smile!, Kitchens Design

  • big or small?, My kitchen is 30 years old, the cabinets are so old, the doors don't close anymore. Some friends told me to bring down the walls between the kitchen, the eating area and the room I have in the back and I don't use it. To make a big, comfortable kitchen with eating area. Other friends told me to leave all the walls between the rooms but to replace the cabinets., Kitchens Design
