I've always been all about the earth tones, so when we bought our first home I wanted to force myself to use colors I've never worked with before. When I fell in love with the black and white damask wallpaper, my next challenge was making my existing furniture work in the space....this is what we got!

Previously a kids' tv room, my new guestroom turned out even better than I had dreamed! Along the way I had to change almost everything in my original plans: wallpaper, paint color, bedding, but it all finally came together! Still needs some finishing touches I think, like bedside tables and art on the wall - give me some suggestions!

Previously, this space was an 80's hall of fame. Pink floral wallpaper with gigantic furniture and no style!
We rewallpapered and added the beadboard wainscoating with the chair rail. We kept the 1940's vintage light fixture, but had to spend hours cleaning it! We have a refurbished farm table and wanted to keep the whole room simple but chic!

Our little girls room has brown damask wallpaper, picture frame moulding, crown moulding and a pink ceiling. The picture frame moulding has pink inside as well. The damask and polka dot bedding is from Serena & Lily. We used our sons nursery furniture but painted it white.

Wanted a little drama in our first floor powder room.
I glazed alternating stripes on the wall (the math was the hardest part!, then stenciled down the centers and did an overall glaze on the entire wall to soften it all.

A space that is elegant, but at the same time practical. Designed in a way so that a baby may grown into a little girl without having to change the main design of the room.

We do motion graphics and video work for the commercial ad world... which means we spend waaaayyy more time at work than at home. It also means that our space needs to be comfortable, inspired, and a creative reflection of the work and personality that is Blend Studios. The riveted steel surfaces throughout our space speak industrial, vintage modern, which we feel is a natural fit to our location in Milwaukee's Historic 3rd Ward. www.blend-studios.com

This is a 40 by 25 foot area that is two thirds of my total space carved from a 1905 department store in Columbus, Ohio. The only original element left is the maple floors.

This is my newly wallpapered dining room. I am looking for suggestions for a chandelier centerpiece and seat cushion fabric color. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Our attempt at understated, feminine elegance without the typical pink palette. This room was designed for a ballet loving, rambunctious 3-year old who will hopefully love it just as much when she is 15. Complete with built-in bookcases, an upholstered window seat, and a petite chandelier...we were even able to squeeze in space for a table with tea set for four, despite cozy dimensions and a challenging ceiling. A large patterned yellow damask wallpaper covers the walls, and hints of pinks and greens are brought in through striped fabrics in the curtains. A vintage, shabby chic dresser was first used as a changing table. We hope you like this space!!

When my husband and I found out we were having a little girl, my wheels immediately started spinning and construction began! I have always loved wainscot, so that was the first DIY project my husband tackled. I maximized space by setting the armoire caddy-corner with a changing station to the left and the crib directly on the opposing wall. The glider and ottoman is also caddy corner next to the changing station. I found an antique mahogany two-tier table with scallop edging from Craigslist -$50- and refinished it in a black pearl stain with gold etching and tulip flowers with the letter M for Baby Madison. The picture-in-picture was a design inspiration that my mom found in an interior decor magazine. We replicated the idea, wallpapering each of the inside panels bordered with molding, and placed vintage pictures that have been with my family for several years. On the 'changing station' wall, the other two picture-in-pictures have wired vintage figures of a manikin silhouette and Eiffel tower for that Parisian flare. My mother-in-law made all the bedding, drapery, and diaper hanging sack from fabric we picked out a local fabric warehouse in Buena Park, CA. The crib cornice and curtain tie backs were a great find at the Princess Canopy Shop on Etsy. They are stained in black pearl with brass/gold etching. My husband designed the M font and worked with an online wood-work company to produce the finished product at a greatly reduced price -under $40-. I bought the hanging chandelier on closeout with black shades and matching pink bows were tied using the leftover pink satin bedding fabric. The furniture is by Munire, purchased at USA Baby and the lamp was purchased on clearance at Tuesday Morning -$50-. I shopped around for the rug after finding that on an interior design website, I bought it for 50% less than retail from BoldRugs.com after they price matched another competitors price. The crib mobile was purchased on target.com.
