  • Master Bathroom with a View, We recently (finally) renovated / remodeled our master bathroom that had been sitting gutted since the day we bought our house - over 3 1/2 years ago. We finally were able to borrow the lump sum needed to do this massive makeover. The issue with the original bathroom - other than the fact that it was super dated (green wallpaper) and yucky, was that the main drain was cracked and water was leaking to the floor below - into the walls and down to the floor. This is a second story bathroom and below it is the kitchen and dining room. Sadly the previous tenant was using the bathroom even with the broken drain pipes which had caused mold in the walls which we had to get professionally cleaned! Anyway, all that's in the past now and we have a fabulous modern (but comfortable) master bathroom that feels like an expensive hotel / spa and it even has a view of the bay and golden gate bridge!

feel free to follow our blog for the rest of our adventures in home makeover here - http://fixerwithaview.wordpress.com - we even have a blog section about how we almost got onto HGTV's curb appeal - shot the reveal and everything before our project was cancelled., Bathrooms Design

  • small space--BIG Style!, My master bath is a little on the small side, but because (like most of my redo's) I really couldn't add onto the house I had to make do with what I had. I will admit there were a few "lessons learned" on this job-as far as time and cost are concerned, but I am extremely happy with the use of space. It is just as comfortable, and just as luxurious as most hotels which was my primary goal with this project., Bathrooms Design

  • French Cottage Spa Bathroom, Lots of black & white give this room a clean crisp look. High gloss white trim wainscotting and custom table vanity is french country. Granite floors stainless steel faucets and wall sconces sparkle. Hints of black in the mirror lamp shades wall cabinet and leather boxes add richness. The stainglass window chandelier make it unique. The walls are faux painted in pale grays that blend with shower tiles. • Neutral Retreat Hall Bath, This is a guest hallway bath. Remodeled for a show house and later sold to a family, the beginning was stud walls, a complete rennovation. Being a guest and older children's bath, the look needed to be gender neutral, modern, nature inspired, with a slight nod toward the past history of the home (built in the 40s). The color palette that greets you is relaxed and neutral using almond, ivory, and grey with a surprise accent of warm cherry red. A Carrara marble vanity and chrome fixtures create the charm of yesteryear, while the curving leaf patterned wallcovering lends both a modern and organic feel. Nature is further brought in with a driftwood grey natural woven roman shade on the window and a subtle leaf tone-on-tone custom shower curtain, both banded in the cherry red. Hand painted art, a luxurious velvet high-backed chair, colorful ceramics, candle pieces, and fluffy white towels complete this retreat.

  • Glamour Spa Master Bath, This master bath was an outdated in an early 1990s built home. The homeowner wished for a "spa like retreat", but did not wish to do a complete tear out renovation. They chose to keep the existing vanity, roman tub, and large mirror as the decorator knew she could vastly update their looks! Carpeting on the floor was replaced with 18 x 18 porcelain tile, the vanity was painted an espresso, polished brass fixtures were all replaced with sleeker style, satin nickel ones. The outdated wallpaper was removed, and a soft tone-on-tone wave-like paper put in its place. The large mirror was custom framed, and the "theater bulb light strip" was replaced with two sleeker vanity lights. The client wanted the tub to be "set off" in some way, so the decorator created a soft, flowing drapery panel, attached at the ceiling and puddling on the floor. Abstract art, a ribbon shag rug, cool accessories, plus a customized vanity chair, finishes the room completely!

  • Beaufort SC Bed and Breakfast Inspired Bathroom Complete With Claw Foot Tub, Every self respecting Southern Home has a vintage bathroom with a clawfoot tub. We actually purchased a reproduction tub but returned it as quickly as it came - it simply didn't have the same ambiance as an original. Vanity was custom made by a local cabinet maker in Ashland KY. He did a fine job!The French doors are not covered only because the house is for sale. When we lived there we had Southern style plantation shutters on the doors. :-), Bathrooms Design

  • Master Ensuite, We used Marron Imperial marble for both vanities tops and the tub surround. As well we used small mosaic inserts in the flooring to tie it together. The front of the tub had a curve that was paneled to match the radius on the bath tub lacquered in the same color as the vanities and built-in. Custom cabinet work was done throughout the space to give it more of a furniture feel. The custom framed mirrors and chocolate walls pulled it all together!
