  • Master Bathroom with a View, We recently (finally) renovated / remodeled our master bathroom that had been sitting gutted since the day we bought our house - over 3 1/2 years ago. We finally were able to borrow the lump sum needed to do this massive makeover. The issue with the original bathroom - other than the fact that it was super dated (green wallpaper) and yucky, was that the main drain was cracked and water was leaking to the floor below - into the walls and down to the floor. This is a second story bathroom and below it is the kitchen and dining room. Sadly the previous tenant was using the bathroom even with the broken drain pipes which had caused mold in the walls which we had to get professionally cleaned! Anyway, all that's in the past now and we have a fabulous modern (but comfortable) master bathroom that feels like an expensive hotel / spa and it even has a view of the bay and golden gate bridge!

feel free to follow our blog for the rest of our adventures in home makeover here - http://fixerwithaview.wordpress.com - we even have a blog section about how we almost got onto HGTV's curb appeal - shot the reveal and everything before our project was cancelled., Bathrooms Design

  • small space--BIG Style!, My master bath is a little on the small side, but because (like most of my redo's) I really couldn't add onto the house I had to make do with what I had. I will admit there were a few "lessons learned" on this job-as far as time and cost are concerned, but I am extremely happy with the use of space. It is just as comfortable, and just as luxurious as most hotels which was my primary goal with this project., Bathrooms Design

  • French Cottage Spa Bathroom, Lots of black & white give this room a clean crisp look. High gloss white trim wainscotting and custom table vanity is french country. Granite floors stainless steel faucets and wall sconces sparkle. Hints of black in the mirror lamp shades wall cabinet and leather boxes add richness. The stainglass window chandelier make it unique. The walls are faux painted in pale grays that blend with shower tiles. The goal was to be cozy and relaxing not girly or masculine., Bathrooms Design

  • Small Spa Bath, Do I really need a budget of $30k to create a noteworthy bath? Does it have to be more square footage than my first apartment? OK so the one and only bath in my house is about 35 square feet. It's about quality not quantity right? When I bought the house it had a hole in the floor and an awful cultured marble sink. I had a custom vanity built new fixtures flooring lighting and glass bath enclosure. All this for about $1500! Oh and ... sorry I left the soap on the sink. :-P, Bathrooms Design

  • Beaufort SC Bed and Breakfast Inspired Bathroom Complete With Claw Foot Tub, Every self respecting Southern Home has a vintage bathroom with a clawfoot tub. We actually purchased a reproduction tub but returned it as quickly as it came - it simply didn't have the same ambiance as an original. Vanity was custom made by a local cabinet maker in Ashland KY. He did a fine job!The French doors are not covered only because the house is for sale. When we lived there we had Southern style plantation shutters on the doors. :-), Bathrooms Design

  • The girl's French bath, Love French anything....Tried to create an elegant & pretty bathroom for my two daughters to share. I painted an old french dresser for the sink vanity & put in Mexican sinks & made it fun for the girls with dolphin faucets and hung a chandelier. The stone is Crema Marfil marble & tumbled crema on the floor . There is an inlaid floor stone mural. Thinking of stenciling the walls in a subtle allover french scroll design in beige & gold..any ideas? round window still needs trim., Bathrooms Design

  • Tiny Master Bathroom Remodel (After and Before), Goal: A clean lined modern bathroom with a spa like feeling. Since we didn't have room to extend the bathroom we added in cubbyholes to help open up the space. A tall medicine cabinet with skinny sconces and cubbyhole were used to help accentuate the height of the room. A custom vanity made out of mahogany and a soapstone counter top was built. Light tumbled marble with light sage green paint was used to brighten up the space. Before well let’s just say our friends called it motel 6 :P, Bathrooms Design

  • Mustard to Sage Bathroom renovation, This bathroom, in my 1925 Capitol Hill rowhouse, started with white hexagon floor tiles and white subway tiles on the walls and shower. Sometime between now and then, it was covered with the mustard tiles on the walls and shower, and speckled mustard and cream tiles on the floor. For less than $2,000 in materials, and the labor of my mom and I, we torn out the tiles, pedestal sink, scraped and repainted the walls and ceiling and added a custom built in cabinet above the toilet. Since we couldn't save or remove the original tiles, we cover the floor with a natural 2" stone looking tile and the shower with he same, but in 4". We painted the walls a sage green and added white bead board to the bottom, with base board and chair rail to match. With the sink, I bought an old oak dresser for $50 which I refinished and put a drop sink in to create a custom vanity., Bathrooms Design
