  • REFINISH your floors!!!, We used to have natural stained red oak floors. We decided to finally to take the plunge and go dark after the floors have yellowed. They became a honey colored-orange blah color. We wanted to show you how great it looks. The purpose of this post is to show you the floors and not the decor. I haven't even put everything back yet. Even though she has some wrinkles (some call it cracks in the plaster) she a grand ol' gal. Join me (and please give suggestions) as I strive to get that comfy cottage/shabby chic look (Victorian is just a little too stuffy four our life style). Hope to hear from you!, Home Exterior Design

  • NEW MODERN STAIRS, I FINALLY GOT RID OF THOSE TRADITIONAL STAIRS... YES... ONCE AGAIN.. MY CONTRACTORS PUT MY CRAZY DESIGNS TO REALITY... BELIEVE IT OR NOT.. THE STAINLESS STEEL LOOKING BARS ARE CONDUIT PIPES I BOUGHT FROM HOME DEPOT FOR $3-4 PER 12 FEET... AMAZING... I PREVIOUSLY WAS LOOKING AT STAINLESS STEEL RODS FOR $45 PER 7 FEET... NEEDLESS TO SAY HOW MUCH MONEY I SAVED... THE WALLS WILL BE PAINTED IN A CREAM/IVORY COLOR... SO THE SOON-TO-BE DARK STAINED STAIRS WOULD POP.. AND IT WILL ALSO HIGHLIGHT THE ZIG-ZAG DESIGN ON THE SIDE OF THE STAIRS... I WILL POST MORE PICS AFTER WE STAIN THE STAIRS A DARK ESPRESSO (THE WOOD FLOORS WILL BE STAINED THE SAME COLOR). THE 10" WOOD SPHERES ARE SOLID WOOD AND THE STAINLESS STEEL RINGS THEY'RE SITTING ON, ARE RINGS FOR VESSEL SINKS... :-), Other Spaces Design

  • A Creative Staircase Makeover, I do not have a formal entryway in my 1500+ square foot home. When you open the front door you are greeted with the view of my staircase leading to the second floor. From years of kids and dogs running up and down them, the carpeting was dingy and the staircase was just drab and blah. With the help of my husband we pulled up the carpeting. I spent weeks pulling out staples, sanding, staining and painting but I love how the staircase looks now. I am no longer embarrassed to open the front door to guests now!, Other Spaces Design
