The Goal was to NOT make this great little house look like all the other nightly rentals in the Smoky Mountain area with our total remodel job. I don't know about you, but I'm sick of moose head & deer antler decor, (Not to mention the brutality. If I ever decorate with real dead animal carcasses somebody get me some help. : We call this look "Pottery Barn" in the Mountains. It's Warm colors make a bold statement, yet the fabrics are very comfy and most of all romantic. Our county issues a large number of marriage license, second only to Vegas. So, we thought that Romance never goes out of style, no matter your age.

This is the definition of an "Eat-in" kitchen. The only dining area in the house is at the over-sized island. But, it sure does help to create that "together feeling". Which is the goal on a mountain vacation, right? I hope you enjoy viewing our little Mountain Chalet in Gatlinburg, TN

My dining room area after I've added some decorative items, an area rug and nice drapes. I still plan on painting the walls a greyish color and possibly put a wide chocolate colored stripe around at chair rail height. I also plan on getting a drawer made to sit the server on. The server is actually a sofa table we're using as a server. What do you think?

We bought a new bar height set for our anniversary to go with our sideboard that I found at a discount store. It had damage so I got a good price of $125 and I remade it. Instead of making the sideboard perfect (it had damage I purposely roughed it up more and put a stencil on the doors and changed out the hardware to copper. This dining set matched it perfectly it also has the distressed look. We painted the dining room yellow and usedTuscan theme accents with bright colors to decorate.

Casual, yet elegant kitchen with lighted glass cabinets, large island, and beautiful tile backsplash. Contrasting island and hood in mocha finish. This kitchen remodel features custom cherry cabinets with a contemporary euro flair. Simple, yet quality components (new venetian gold granite, stainless steel hardware and appliances, and travertine tile add a natural feel to this user-friendly space. The additions of a wine cabinet and counter bar opened up this area and provide a great gathering space for family and friends.

My vanity/sink area is in it's own area and the shower and toilet are in the next room separated by a pocket door. I wanted the vanity part to flow into my bedroom to match my dresser and the colors all to flow from one room to the next. The vanity was made from scratch and to be 39 inches tall as I am 6'1. The fixtures are all rose bronze and the doors handles/light are bronze. Mirror and light fixture match vanity.

This is my very small kitchen in my very small cottage in the Hollywood Hills. I remodeled the kitchen about 2 years ago. This remodel inspired me to start my own interior design website called Cococozy (http://www.cococozy.com.

The kitchen now features CaesarStone countertops, glass upper and lower cabinets from Ikea, a great deep Kohler stainless undermount sink, a modern brushed stainless KWC faucet and spray and a backsplash made of glass and porcelain Porcelanosa large wall tiles. I went with stainless appliances to compliment the trim on the cabinet doors and the backsplash.

Before, the kitchen featured white tile counter tops, old crooked wood cabinets and a country style console provided counter space and storage under the kitchen's bay window.

The goal of the remodel was to simplify and clean up the lines in the space to make the kitchen design feel cohesive and modern.

transformation of my black and yellow 1950's kitchen into the "vision" that was so hard for my wife to see. Gutted the whole thing down to the studs, removed a wall and threw up a flush mount beam (as easy as it sounds, assembled cabinets, installed mosaic floor, built and installed concrete counter tops, installed penny tile back splash, installed new apron sink, and fixtures taaaadaaaaaa ready for the next project!
