I love my Gel Fireplace but sometimes it can be hard to decorate.it looks and sounds just like a real wood burning FP. It looks it's best at Christmas time,so full and warmth of lights and garland.I constantly am rearranging items on it.
Please dont rate it,just give some decorating ideas.

This is our living room. I know it's sad and boring!...That's why I badly need your advice. Sad because it is a very small space (we live in a condo townhouse and its shape is rectangular with fireplace at the left corner, big sliding doors going through the spacious deck (which I love, and baluster dividing the living and dining room.
Note: I kinda started to rearrange this room. The nasty, unattended fish tank has to go (it used to be cared for before we get super busy and the shelf where it sits on will be placed under the hanging cabinet (where the dvd and stuff are stored beside the fireplace. I am thinking if the lazy boy (or single leather reclining couch needs to go!?? I am dreaming and loving turquoise/teal and subtle orange as a punch of color to contribute to the space.
Your advices/comments will be greatly appreciated.

This is the corner fireplace and focal point in our open contemporary family room. The ceilings are 13'. The flat part of the very tall wall over the fireplace is narrow and won't accomodate large artwork. Hanging anything on the angled side walls looks awkward because they face 'in'. We tried molding on the sides of the fireplace up to the ceiling to define the space over the fireplace but it created the appearance of a tall narrow 'tunnel'. I have 'decorator's block'!

I desperately need help with my living room! Our living room/family room and dining room are open to eachother..the room itself is long and narrow and we are having a hard time with furniture placement. You can't see the dining room area because it's behind me. The thing I HATE the most about this area is the UGLY fake rock in the corner fireplace area. The fireplace is our only source of heat for our living room, dining room, master bedroom and mudroom..basically 1/2 of our home. We use the fireplace all winter long and it works great but I hate the look of the surrounding area. This part of the house was added on and whoever did the addition never installed ductwork. However, it would be easy enough to do it because it's just a crawl space below the living room. The 2nd worst thing about this room is the floor. I'd like to install hardwood flooring throughout the house but can't afford to at this time. If you can give me ideas on how to improve the look of this room I'd really appreciate it!!

My living room needs help! We just moved in and I can't figure out how to design it. I want it to be happy and inviting but stick mostly with neutrals but right now it is kind of bland. I know it needs some color somewhere. I'm thinking about going with a neutral butter-cream type color on the walls, or at least as an accent wall in the kitchen and maybe wall where piano is. Need help with window coverings, wall decor above piano, fireplace decor. Furniture arrangement, really all of it! I really appreciate any help or suggestions!

nice, bright room, huge corner fireplace, doors to deck. I want a Hawaiian theme and am also trying to figure out what to do above the fireplace (not the tv. The walls run directly into the living room and up the stairs. So painting will be lots of fun! Ideas anyone?

This space is open to my Farmhouse kitchen. We had the table made for the area. The fireplace can be seen from the kitchen and as you enter the back door. The French doors open to our deck and gardens.

We just moved into our first house recently and are having a hard time figuring out how to arrange our furniture in the living room. Right now, we have a large sectional and plan on getting smaller furniture soon. Still, we're not sure what to get or how to set up our living room and where to put the TV. Any ideas?

This living area is 20'L x 17' W. It had ash paneling that we have removed. The corner fireplace appears to have a black front, but it's just from the camera. There is a large double window next to a 15 light door on the right side. Left of the fireplace will have a large screen tv. The only other wall is across the room to the left and is unobstructed and 20' long. The opposite side of the room has the breakface/kitchen area openings. HELP! I have a large family and need space for everyone to walk and sit. We prefer traditional but not too formal and not too fussy.

Our first home is beautiful and a steal. The livingroom has light wood floors, high ceilings and a corner fireplace. It flows into the kitchen to meet a stone top island. One wall has a pair of doors leading to the covered patio and the other is the front entrance to the house with two pillars dividing it from the tile floored entry way.
