Our 14 year old worn and yellowed but structurally sound oak cabinets got a facelift. The space feels larger and much, much brighter! We used rustoleum kitchen transformations in linen, unglazed and espresso, glazed. The project took us 8 weeks. Still have floor to do but so happy the cabinets are done!

60% completed so far. Remaining work to be done: doors and drawer fronts, backsplash, hutch and island unit, floor. Everything is handbuilt so progress is slow.

This home was built in 1997, and the kitchen has white tile floors, white appliances, white ceilings and white cabinets. The only color in the room is the dark navy formica counter tops along with loads of pink & green floral wallpaper. The space is large and has loads of counter space and cabinets with a good size breakfast room. Finding fabric that matches pink floral without going with more floral was difficult. My husband is not that fond of pink in the kitchen and he is now doing the majority of the cooking since retiring. I love gas to cook with, but the original builder put in a center island electric cooktop even though there is gas in the house, what a shame.

This is my very small kitchen in my very small cottage in the Hollywood Hills. I remodeled the kitchen about 2 years ago. This remodel inspired me to start my own interior design website called Cococozy (http://www.cococozy.com.
The kitchen now features CaesarStone countertops, glass upper and lower cabinets from Ikea, a great deep Kohler stainless undermount sink, a modern brushed stainless KWC faucet and spray and a backsplash made of glass and porcelain Porcelanosa large wall tiles. I went with stainless appliances to compliment the trim on the cabinet doors and the backsplash.
Before, the kitchen featured white tile counter tops, old crooked wood cabinets and a country style console provided counter space and storage under the kitchen's bay window.
The goal of the remodel was to simplify and clean up the lines in the space to make the kitchen design feel cohesive and modern.

We had very old and used cabinets. We refinshed them. We also filled in the old fashioned lines down the middle. This is the first time we ever tried something like this! Still have to finish the rest of the kitchen and find somemore bottom cabinets!

The wife and I decided to remodel our kitchen and do all the design work ourselves. I used MS paint to lay out our blueprint. We've never done anything like this before but will definitley do it again. We had a blast.
Before and after pictures of our upstairs remodel that includes our kitchen, living room, dining room, hallway and master bedroom.

This is our 1957 Florida kitchen. The kitchen is the first room your eyes are drawn to when you enter the house. The kitchen is long and narrow with one entrance and exit. The cabinets are suspended from the ceiling by iron bars. 16 cabinets and 3 deep drawers. I have pictures of the kitchen. I welcome all serious suggestions on "How to achieve more storage room". I would love to have a dishwasher.Thank you.

I wanted a big farmhouse kitchen on a little budget. I saved by using open shelving on beadboard paneling instead of upper cabinets low cost industrial lighting on the ceiling plain white appliances #2 oak flooring inexpensive formica counter tops and lots of creativity. I added some yard sale finds including a big old glass door hutch and a center island that was an old hardware store counter. I got every thing I wanted and was able to do the whole kitchen for under $10K. My specialty is doing re-designs on tiny budgets. To see more check out my blog
I have recently inherited a house that was falling apart at the seams. With my budget exhausted from all of the neccesary repairs I had to make, I had to get creative to make it a habitable space. The table was a yard sale find $5.00 yup five whole dollars. I took an old ramones poster and liquid varnish and made a bad ass breakfast table. The refridgerator was tired and worn out so I printed concert playbills and album artwork onto sticker paper, laminated them and stuck them to the fridge (note my neice has pulled several of them off I was trying to mimic the art on the adjacent wall. the stove was a good idea gone bad and in the end partly salvaged. Being unable to afford stainless for the kitchen I purchased appliance paint however I found that it come off when anything hot got splattered on it. ( I know a disaster Anywho I etched some art into the front with an exacto knife to try to make it seem like it was done on purpose. I guess I am stuck with the horrible cabinets and pink counter top untill i can save up enough money to replace them. If anyone out there has any suggestions as to how to make my kitchen more cohesive or asthetically pleasing other than burning it to the ground please PLEASE speak now !!

This is the last room that is left of our total house renovation. We bought a 1890's farm house that we have gutted and gutted again.... And so, here is the last room of the renovation process.....

Finally got rid of the kitchen I never liked to a kitchen I love. Guilty pleasure...the foot kick in the island for my central vac. No more bending over with a dustbin. Please share your comments. Brutal honesty is appreciated.

Instead of complaining about how unhappy I was with the look of my kitchen, and even more disappointed with my budget of $400. I was able to save ALOT of money by repurposing items from storage and other rooms.
I used Rustoleum Liquid Laminate paint to resurface my faux- marble look. It comes in 16 different colors.
I had really good wood cabinets but it was too dark in my kitchen because there was only window and not a lot of light. I really wanted to brighten up the kitchen by painting the cabinets white.
Behr has this great paint and primer in one. After sanding the cabinets it really saved a lot of time.
I used the Simple Matte Tile Solution and the Simple Grout (which was pre mixed and mess free I used 1/4 inch tile spacers and GOT BUSY!
I changed the light fixtures and replaced them with silver pendant lights from ikea.
In the end we spent $414. I have to say that my kitchen is now my new favorite room in the house. If you dont like your kitchen you have the power and the resources to change it!
