  • Persimmon , Homage to the 70s! we went for a pretty wild carpet but paired it with taupe-greys and charcoal to give it a modern update. We really didnt want to to stray to far from the origins of the NW contemporary architecture, we took away more than we added, Living Rooms Design

  • Modern and Organized Office/Crafts Room!, It took me three months to design my crafts room and office. I looked for versatile storage, that was neat and organized and easily accessible. I wanted the paint to be bold and vibrant, but not annoying. I also created various areas in the room for certain crafts like; scrapbooking, gift wrapping, painting, sewing, and bow making. I love this room and spend hours everyday creating! , Home Offices Design

  • Peeper's Place, A sweet, neutral nursery created with lots and lots of love for our first baby, "Peeper". I love neutrals. I wanted a neutral, clean, crisp, contemporary but warm space all wrapped up into one big ball of awesome. My inspiration for this entire room was the knowledge that I wanted gray walls, and that precious raindrop mobile! I based all my colors from there, using the ones I loved most as pops of color throughout the rest of the room., Nurseries Design

  • Orange and Gray Living Room, This is a rent apartment, so I can't make major changes. I would have change the ceiling lamp, but, oh well.
The paint is a dark charcoal ( Behr DARK CAVERN), the other is orange (Behr KOI, but it was too bright so the helpful guys at Home Depot help me and they added more black so the color became a spice/terracota).

The coffee table is from OVERSTOCK, the carpet from HAYNEEDLE, table, chairs and floor lamp from IKEA, photo frames from WEST ELM, shelfs from CRATE & BARREL, orange print chair from TARGET, orange rectangular pillow from CHIASSO.

  • Modern Retro Living Room, I wanted to update my living room with white, black, burnt orange and touch of blue. The show "Mad Men" was my inspiration; I had the sofa, chairs and table covers custom made. I live in the Middle East, so it's very reasonable to get things made. I was also able to reuse a few pieces of furniture by spray painting them black., Living Rooms Design

  • Modern meets cozy, This living room is kid friendly! Clean-up is a breeze, it is modern, yet cozy. The room cost about $ 500.00 to complete if you don't include the biggest pieces, loveseat, coffee and end tables, and two chairs. It has some deco era inspired pieces. It has a glamorous feel considering it was designed with 5 kids in mind. The main wall design was painted. It is contemporary with traditional mixed in. I think. If anyone has suggestions to make it better that would be great!, Living Rooms Design

  • Moroccan Accent Bath, The highlight of this bathroom are the two antique Moroccan doors that were affixed to a new custom cabinet. The doors were mounted with loose pin finial hinges. The backsplash consists of gray tile that extends to the back wall and contrasts well with the brighter accent hues of the Moroccan doors.

In this project it was important for the finish of the hardware to contrast well with the antique mirror. The hardware is clean, geometric, contemporary; the mirror frame ornate and looks like it came from another era entirely.

When demo-ing for the project it was discovered that the existing second story was inadequately framed in a previous remodel. In order to support the addition we had to put in new floor trusses to support the existing framing. We also had to add new laminated veneer lumber to support the roof framing.

In order to install the new trusses we had to remove the interior subfloor to expose the framing. We then cut a 14ft hole through the front exterior roof (under the dormer) to expose existing ceiling joists so that we could install new TJI’s to support the load of the second floor framing. They were then sistered to the existing joists, which enabled us to take out the sag in the downstairs ceiling. We also had to redo all the upstairs plumbing because of the new design. All the new drains had to run perpendicular to the joists by drilling passages through the joists so they met the main drain. The result is a beautiful bathroom set in blues with very effective visual counterpoints that are also essential to the proper function of the room.

  • Architectural Details: Nice but Problematic, The bedroom in my loft has a fair amount of space however the strange ceiling angles, exposed beams, and other achitectural details that I love so much make things difficult at times. The skylight is really nice but my bed is right below sleeping in for me :(, Bedrooms Design

  • Boring Beige...HELP PLEASE!, My living room dining area & kitchen are one big open space. The fireplace is on an angle and the back door exits through my living room both of which make furniture placement difficult. I created a photo wall on an otherwise useless wall. I need storage for toys & books. What should I put on the walls? I like casual contemporary design. The design should extend to the dining room & kitchen as well. , Living Rooms Design
