  • Heirloom Coffee Table, I wanted to post my latest project! This coffee table started out its life as my mom and dad's back porch door. Recently they replaced the door and it was headed to the dump! But I spotted it can't throw it away!!! So I had dad cut in half, bought legs, ordered tempered glass for the top, painted it white, had family photos printed (all in black and pics if possible) Viola! Mom and dad's trash becomes my treasure! What do you think?, Living Rooms Design

  • Neutral Living Room, We haven't done much in here except paint the walls a neutral beige color. I would love some color inspiration... I tend to lean towards "safe" colors, and feel stumped with this living room. With our dark wood trim and our brown and beige furnishings I have no idea what color would look good on the walls. Any suggestions???, Living Rooms Design

  • Formal, warm and inviting living room, This is the room that would typically be called the formal living room. We are casual and have young children. I think the space is well suited to our lifestyle. It is a perfect space for conversation or to curl up and read a book. After dinner parties we generally circulate into the space for after dinner drinks and dessert. I still need to change out the previous drapery. It is not my style. It does match to some degree so it has been a little farther down on my to do list. I'll get them done, hopefully this year. Enjoy and thanks for looking!, Living Rooms Design

  • ECLECTIC ETHNIC, This room is a blend of neutral and bold wall colors with a mix of soft and hard textures throughout the space. There is a blend of classic and ethnic artwork. I'm proud of the coffee table and TV cabinet because I put in a lot of love and hard work into these pieces. Enjoy! , Living Rooms Design

  • New place, same dilemma , Well, we just moved into our new space, and I have a dilemma with our desks. I have no idea what to do with them because of the long rectangular shape of the living room, and there is no where else to put our desks.

I can lose the side chair. I was thinking of maybe putting the desks in the corner behind it in an L-shape. I have no idea how to define an "office zone" with the dimensions of the living room. :{, Living Rooms Design

  • SOS!!! Time for a Real Change!, Boy am I need of some help with this well-used living space. As you can see I currently have two full-size sofas that are hemmed in with a monstrous oak coffee table. This coffee table is too heavy for the space but I need something that will serve both sofas. Also in this room are two chairs that swivel to enjoy both the wood stove in the winter and provide more seating space to watch TV or visit with those seated in the sofa area. The TV armoire measures 7 ft high and works well in this corner due to the vaulted ceiling. This room measures 16.5' x 22' and because of the wood stove I am limited with my furniture arrangement. My near-future plans are to paint the walls a soft camel/khaki color and cover the chairs with custom-made cotton duck slipcovers. Lose the valance; the windows overlook the backyard & river (no neighbors). My goal is to move away from a traditional look to something clean look & lines, contemporary and soft. I so greatly appreciate any views or advice. Thank you!!!! , Living Rooms Design
