  • BIRCHFIELD GARDENS, I have a postage-stamp size yard in a housing subdivision. But have managed to turn it into a solitary retreat. It is also a registered Backyard Wildlife Habitat. In the city! I see the awesomeness of God in His creation. What a glorious Creator. I have named my gardens after my great-grandparents. As a very small child I remember trying to push the reel mower with my great grandfather and the gladiolus in my grandmother's yard. My grandfather and I would take a salt shaker to the garden, pick tomatoes(obviously organic) off the vine and enjoy. Gr. grandma Birchfield's name was Ivy Myrtle. Hence Birchfield Gardens!, Gardens Design

  • Long Island Pad of my Frog Prince, It is the first day of fall and although it is my favorite season I feel a certain melancholy knowing that our Outdoor living space is coming to a close. This is a two year WIP beginning with Astro turf and ending with sod. My husband is my landscape stylist as he literally combs and blows-out the lawn after a cut and is determined to emulate the outfield of Yankee Stadium. The walk-way behind the pool is temporary so ideas for plantings and a soft-scaped meandering path are welcome! , Patios & Decks Design

  • Come in and sit a spell... Coffee cake anyone?, These are the shots the realtor took of my kitchen in my house when we moved this summer. As you can see it is light and bright. I loved it. The countertops are a discontinued Avanza quartz color I loved.I will ask my realtor to give me the disk of the original pics so I can set up proper posts. If I enlarge them they get too grainy. , Kitchens Design

  • From House to Apartment , I recently moved across country and downsized from a house to an apartment. The best way to decorate an apartment is to make the best use of what you already have.
