This mural includes children's songs, fables, nursery rhymes, and tons of tiny critters and animals to keep a baby entertained. I created this nursery for my first born son Reed. I was 8 months pregnant when I began painting it. This was my favorite project because it was the first time I got to create a project for my own child.

We are due with our first baby in two weeks - and we are waiting oh-so-impatiently to find out if its a boy or a girl! Right now, we call the in utero baby "Bjorn" but that's not his/her final name. Just a good gender-neutral name to go with the good gender-neutral colors of green, tan and brown in this baby room!

Custom paint freehand mural inspired by J.C. Penny catolog. I created and painted this for a friend who is having twin boys. Each crib has a twin turtle over it. When they are born their names will be painted over each turtle. Alot of measuring and a steady hand was necessary for this project...but it was worth all the time Mom and Dad are very pleased. I will send more photos after she gets the rest of the furniture. Enjoy for now.

This is now my 19 month old's "space" but soon her little sister will take over the nursery. We went with soft pinks and greens. The colors stem from the vintage nursery rhyme toile fabric. The room features a flower chandelier with pinks and greens and handpainted wood cornaces over the windows. We used a regular dresser for the changing table so that we could use the piece later down the road. The furniture was kept simple to accent the cute fabrics and colors. Wall Art??

We wanted the kids to maintain the playroom and learn to respect and care for their space. They are just nearing homework age so they need a desk and a place that's just theirs. On the right is for a 3 yr old girl and the left a 5 yr old boy. We also have a one year old that uses the room...so lots of closed storage is a must. We threw out the toys they don't use. Made sure everything had a place and tried to "hide" everything.

We love to decorate so rather than purchasing a "nursery in a bag" from a baby superstore in which all the decorative elements are created for you we decided to pick a theme and then find unique elements for the nursery at various places. When our friends found out what we were doing they too became our "eyes" and would look for unique decorative elements for the room. We found treasures at specialty stores garage sales thrift stores and home stores.

I painted my youngest sons nursery with Mary Englebrights Mother Goose. I built a tree in the corner of the room with plaster and paper mache. It is a book shelf with a space for a reading lamp and baby monitor.

Soft and sweet this nursery highlights the nursery rhyme hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle - and the cow jumping over the moon. The curtains are made from a very simple light blue and pale green paisley with a pom pom accent and light blue dot bottom. The bedding is also made from the same fabrics with a center panel of sheer star fabric over the light blue dot. I also painted the toybox and stool to coordinate with this gender neutral sweet space. I painted the words to twinkle twinkle little star around the ceiling light, which was to light to photograph, but so super cute!

My daughter's nursery was lovingly decorated by myself my husband her grandparents a handful of aunts & her uncle Bob (yes everyone has one. As Lilly came 3 months early we had to rush to finish in time. Uncle Bob built the wall unit my husband chose her linens Grandma made the curtains & wall hanging while I designed the layout & pulled everything together. We think we've created a room fit for a princess. The bonus is that the room will grow with her through her toddler years.

This is a room I did for my now 2 year old it is now being used by our 4 month old. I went with "A Bug's Life" for a theme as we didn't know if it was going to be a boy or girl for sure. It turned out to be a girl so we accented with a few "Girlie" flowers Tinkerbell lamp etc. It was inexpensive as I did all the painting myself and purchased a few items at Ikea.

Passing on things from one generation to the next need not be limited to the Chritening gown alone. Using nursery items that bring with them a history of happy memories is a great way to create a baby space with special meaning and style.

This room was put together over the course of a year and with a very small budget (less than $800 total. Every inch of the room was painted during my pregnancy with my third child. The furniture was reused from our son's nursery, Craigslisted, or diy-ed. If there was anything that could be reused, refashioned, re-imagined, it was. This tiny 8.5' x 11' was a labor of love. Our daughter enjoys her room very much and most things are just her size. You can see more of this transformation at the blog, DecorumDIYer.wordpress.com : http://wp.me/p12yAb-wO

I have always loved Mary Engelbreit, and knew I wanted to use her nursery rhyme collection for my nursery. Painting the mural was hard work, but worth it in the end!
