  • Reed's Nursery Rhyme Nursery, This mural includes children's songs, fables, nursery rhymes, and tons of tiny critters and animals to keep a baby entertained. I created this nursery for my first born son Reed. I was 8 months pregnant when I began painting it. This was my favorite project because it was the first time I got to create a project for my own child. , Nurseries Design

  • Awesome inside......awful outside, Our late 70's 1.5 story has been completely update inside, but the front of this family home is so BORING it puts the squirrels to sleep! We would LOVE a Craftsman look, but this house is nowhere close. Is it possible to add styling cues to take it from bland to grand? What do you think of the present look? • open & stark, Hi, my name is Babs. I am a stay at home mom of two kids (4 and 5). We just moved back to Texas and I have an open floor plan that I love. However it feels so stark and cold. I love color & geometric shapes, also sort of an old library/western/modern feel. Confused? Me too! I’m looking to create a colorful (modern) comfortable & durable space with big heavy furniture (old library) and iron accessories/fixtures (western). Ideas anyone?, Living Rooms Design

  • Girls' room from scratch for around $800, This is my 6yr old daughter's room. We put this together keeping storage in mind. She still does her homework and all downstairs, so there was no immediate need for a desk in her room. That saved us some real estate in this 10x10 room. The fuchsia ottoman doubles as a cozy resting corner and storage. I am still looking for the right rug to tie it all together. • Asymmetrical Kitchen Remodel, Before moving into this newly purchased home, the owners had an opportunity to remodel the kitchen. Built in 1990, this kitchen was compartmentalized and outdated. The island was too small and a bottleneck formed between the island and refrigerator. The owners wanted to open up the space to the living and dining areas.

Inspired by Mexican contemporary architecture, the kitchen was transformed. The tile backsplash, dark counters and small island were all removed. The florescent light box was swapped with cool pendants and recessed lighting. A new kitchen sink is now located under a new picture box window allowing views to the street. Overhead cabinets in a bright, fun hue and open wood shelving with accent lighting and decorative tile bring functionality to the space. The cooktop remains in the enlarged, asymmetrical island and now accommodates seating. Some appliances were updated and a new pantry with additional storage was constructed around the refrigerator. Finishing the look is new Brazilian Pecan hardwood flooring.

Now this family has an updated, contemporary kitchen that is open to the living spaces and can freely enjoy hosting friends and family.

  • Bedroom of 2 Much, We have a 2 bedroom apartment in Manhattan, NY.This small bedroom is shared by my 3 children . My 12 and 9 year old girls, plus there 6 year old brother. It is a 11' x 8' room. When my 2nd child was born we took out the closet and custom built a bed with four drawers underneath. Then when the 3rd child was born we converted the bottom 2 drawers to a trundle bed (mattress is a crib size mattress, cut from foam) and built a bunk bed above. The 12 and 9 year old girls are sleeping on foam mattress the width of a crib and about a foot longer. My 12 year old is way too big for her bed and is ready for a twin size mattress. I think the best solution is a horizontal murphy bunk bed with custom drawers/closet on the main wall. Then create a closet and drawers under the bunk bed. This is a fortune to custom build. I clearly need help and specific suggestions!, Bedrooms Design
