  • It's a Jungle in Here!, The goal in designing my son's room was that it be colorful, full of texture & three-dimensional. Each scene is made up of at least three layers of media. I tried to carry the jungle theme throughout the nursery by having branches continue through the verticle blinds & appear on the next wall. The trees were made out of foam board. Then we added contact paper, jungle themed paper & various layers of greenery. The animal photos were taken at various zoos & blown up to poster size (20 x 30). We cut them out & glued them to poster board then adhered them to the wall with liquid nails. We used various shades of grasses & cattails over a green hill for the baby zebra scene. The cheetah's rock was painted with Ralph Lauren River Rock paint to add a rough texture & completed the scene with tall grass. Finally, the orangutan & giraffe have manilla rope & netting to give them an extra layer. These will be removed once our baby boy is old enough to cause any havoc! ; ) It was a huge project that my niece, nephew & I worked on during my maternity leave. One pleasant surprise in the design was the movement in the greenery when the ceiling fan is on. The gentle rustling of the leaves & grass add a nice touch that really makes the room come alive. The nursery turned out just as I had hoped & I'm thrilled every time my newborn son curiously stares around at the jungle in his room!

  • ECLECTIC ETHNIC, This room is a blend of neutral and bold wall colors with a mix of soft and hard textures throughout the space. There is a blend of classic and ethnic artwork. I'm proud of the coffee table and TV cabinet because I put in a lot of love and hard work into these pieces. Enjoy! , Living Rooms Design

  • First ever home for the holidays!, This year was my first to decorate my home for Christmas! I couldn't decided if I wanted to use traditional decor or new, modern colors and decorations so I combined both ideas: traditional colors like red and white with some hints of pink and purple; faux and real trees in green, white and gold; stocking on the mantle with cheetah print fur! , Holidays Design

  • Sabsi Art above tufted sofa, This room has 22 foot ceilings so I used a 15 foot palm tree and a large scale framed Giclee by my favorite artist, Sabsi. I found the antique cheetah chair on craigslist and think it adds an eclectic element to the room. I changed the area rug and added the ottomans as many of you were right., Living Rooms Design

  • She's WILD about SHOES & JSU!, Our daughter's very small freshman dorm. She loves cheetah and pink, so when she found this bedding, it was on! She had a very small area to work with. We didn't get to see the dorm until move in, so the wood running around the walls was a little surprise and we couldn't do our decorating as we had earlier planned, oh well! So, we just went with it. She wanted something different so we used black paper placemats to add some definition to the walls and the two rugs were combined (she wasn't about to give up that black fur rug!) LOL!! She and her roomate have two completely different design styles so we just kind of decorated her little corner! She loves it but we are open for any and all ideas and suggestions! Thanks!, Dorm Rooms Design
