  • decoupage , This piece was mostly decoupaged with napkins I reinforced with plain paper and saran wrap and a few on hand scrap-booking sheets. I achieved the crackle with Elmer's glue and acrylic paint. After muli coats of mod podge had cured and sealed paper seams down, I poured few coats of resin giving both shelves dimensional look as well as durability. , Other Spaces Design

  • Simple & Light, I'm only a student and I want to create and outdoor room in which I could enjoy and relax in. I had only a budget of $350 and I think I made it work with what little money I was able to spend! Let me know what you guys think or what I could have done differently. I'm a complete amateur at this stuff! I basically got almost everything at Ikea. I knew I wanted a white and clean space but with low maintenance. I didn't have a lot of money to spend on schrubbery or potted flowers. Plus, had I put more plants or flowers it would have over-complicated the space that would have conflicted with the simple furniture. I put curtains up to sort of make this outdoor patio seem like an indoor room when need be. Especially since the patio is in a condo building, it provides privacy! , Porches Design

  • (Budget) Kitchen Makeover - The "Nesting" Syndrome, These are before and after pictures of our 1930's kitchen. Our goal was to re-do the kitchen as quickly and inexpensively as possible since we were expecting our second child soon. I guess you can say the "nesting" bug hit home. Ultimately, we repainted the walls golden yellow (for there was not any time to rip out the brick!) and laid down sheets of MDF wood coated with polyurethane as flooring. I'm proud to say that our $30 floor gets the most compliments from our friends/family and has held up very well over the past 4 years. We extended the counter by re-purposing a desk my husband made by adding metal legs and a laminate top; it provides a great space for extra seating as well. Although it doesn't have all of the bells and whistles, it has worked to serve our needs over the years, but now we need a change! We need more prep work space and new cabinetry. Playing tug of war with wooden drawers that stick resulting in saw dust everywhere is no longer okay to overlook. Would love to reconfigure the space somehow;any suggestions?, Kitchens Design

I took the wallpaper down trying to brighten it up and I cant even paint because the walls are falling apart. The floor is cheap linoleum and the color is peeling off. , Kitchens Design

  • Our Family Room, I bought about 90% of the stuff in this room from rummage sales, garage sales, resale shops and any other cheap consignment store and pieced them all together. The couches, drapes and plasma television are the only items I bought from a retail store. Tell me what you think?, Living Rooms Design

  • Memorial Weekend Front Yard Flower Garden, I did my front yard starting on Friday night and worked pretty much all weekend. The final result is seen on Monday evening. I used lots of perennials, all equally spaced. each side is perfectly symmetrical. I spent the $100 budget on plants, compost and mulch, so I found the rocks in an alley behind the house! Once the plants mature in a few years, i think it will look excellent, and there will be something blooming all year round!! This is the first yard I have ever had, so I hope everyone likes my first attempt! , Gardens Design
